MAQUOKETA, Iowa - Harold Donald Harford 69, of Maquoketa, died Saturday, Sept.16, 2000, at the Jackson County Public Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at the First Baptist Church in Maquoketa. The Rev. Norman Hieman will officiate. Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Ill.

Visitation will be at the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa. Memorials
may be made to the St. Jude's Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Harold Donald Harford was born on May 11, 1931, in Monticello, the son of Harold and Genevieve Cooper Harford. He married JoAnn Marie Litscher in April of 1956 in Maquoketa.

Mr. Harford was a 1948 graduate of the Maquoketa High School. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Harford worked as a chef in various local restaurants, retiring in 1997. His hobbies were building model airplanes, card playing, cooking and gardening.

Survivors include a son, Harold David Harford and his wife, Cindy, of New Orleans, La.; three daughters, Pamela Joy Witcher and her husband, Randle, of Mantachie, Miss.; Sarah Anne Sullivan of Milwaukee, Wis.; Linda Marie Blackwell and her husband, John, of Muscatine; eight grandchildren; a brother, Carlton Harford and his wife, Marge, of Newton.
