Thomas Harley in Bandon Ireland

I am researching my ggg grand father Thomas Harley who was born in Bandon the county of Cork in 1797. Could someone tell me where to go to get information on his birth. I'm pretty sure I would have to rely on church records but I'm not exactly sure how to proceed. Any help would be much appreciated.
