Hello and Happy Holidays Everyone!
I sent this query to the Harmon Board and didn't realize that this site is spelling specific. So I'm resubmitting it to this group in hopes that someone out there knows of my family. Yes, I'm grasping at straws. I've been searching for Clarinda (Harmon/Harman)Miller for along time now. If there are any family members that can claim her, please reply soon. Would love to share what lil bit of info I do have.
Hello Tina,
I noticed you were asking about Adam Harmon of New River Valley. Correct? Is this the same group of Harmons that were at Kings Mountain, NC. in the late 1700's? I'm searching for my ggg-grandmother Clarinda Harmon b. 1828 in Indiana, who is said to be Cherokee.
My research always takes me down to Kings Mountain, with Cutliff and Goulder Harmon. Andrew Harmon who married Sabra Hicks/Hix. And a Cutliff who married a Susan FOUTS. I know for certain that these families were Cherokee.
They used the name of Clarinda in 1850's but I can not find anything on my Clarinda born in 1828. Would you happen to have some information that might help us?
I have searched high and low...
Thanks in Advance,
Janet
