I am looking for any information on the family of 1st Lt. Charles W. Harmer, who was killed while serving in the Army Air Force in the Pacific during World War II. 1st Lt. Harmer was from Oak Park, Illinois, and was born about 1916. According to the 1930 US census, his parents were Charles T. and Regina Harmer, both born in New York, and his sister was Evelyn Harmer, also born in New York. 1st Lt. Harmer and the rest of his B-24 bomber crew were declared missing in action after their aircraft was forced to ditch in ocean while returning from a raid on Iwo Jima, on January 17, 1945.
