Jeremiah Harmony obituary: 1862, Hanover, PA
From the Spectator newspaper (Hanover, Pennsylvania), 10 Oct 1862 issue:
Local Affairs - Sudden Death
About 8 o'clock on Thursday evening last, the 2nd inst., our citizens were considerably startled on learning that Mr. Jeremiah Harmony, the gentlemanly superintendent of the Golden Star Hotel, cor. Carlisle & Chestnut Sts., had fallen over dead while sitting in a chair in the Bar-room of the Hotel. He appeared to those who were sitting in the bar-room at the time, to be enjoying his usual good health, when suddenly he fell back in his chair, stricken with a paralytic stroke, and died instantly. Mr. H was well and favorably known to all our citizens, having resided here for a long time, and some years ago was proprietor of the Franklin House, on York Street. He leaves a large circle of friends and acquaintances to mourn his loss. He was aged about 45 years.
