Thank you for the reply. I think that Virginia was the first "clerk/secretary" for the newly established (about 1945)Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge in Tishomingo, OK after she was discharged from the WAC's in 1946 after WWII. Probably went to work in that job for the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service in about 1946 or 1947 or so. The "Harned House" (I assume she lived with her parents) was a rock house on Pennington Creek near the golf course. I remember the remains of the rock house in the 1950's.

Does anyone have any information on what she did after WWII; she apparently died in about 1998 according to your records.

Hello,
I just found this post and I realize it is dated several years ago. I have been working on the Harned side of my family. Amanda is the sister of Levi, my great grandfather. I have a photo of Amanda and Monroe Roper with two of their children, however, I don't know which two. I also have a photo of David Hartley Harned and Mary Melina Crume, parents of Amanda and Levi. Please let me know if you have any family photos of the Harneds. I would be more than happy to share! If you are interested you can contact me directly at sherrycook@earthlink.net. I will check my spam for new emails. Please put "Harned" in the subject line.
Thanks,
Sherry Cook

We are researching families that lived in a town called Lawsonville, Hardin Co., KY. Lawsonville had a post office fron 8 Jan 1826-1842. There is a cemetery there with about a hundred graves, marked mostly with field stones. The few graves with tombstones are Wm. E. Brown, Mary (his wife) & Sanford (their son) all on one stone, William M. Bowls (son of E. & E.G. Bowls)born 4 April 1866-23 July 1868 & John Smither died 9 Nov 1836. Most of the names we have come across have ties to the Harned's line. Would be very interested in corresponding with anyone that has info about any of these families or about Lawsonville.

Jeff, we are fourth and fifth counsins, once removed (to quote kybarrelmom's e-mail to me). It's really cool, because the cemetary on your parents' property contains her husband and my direct ancestors. It's all quite fascinating, and quite frankly, I will give you the kudos for bringing together two family members that had no idea the other was even out there and interested in geneology! So thank you!

Bobbi Jo

Yes, I believe that is it. Forgive me, as I'm not familiar yet with the whole "lineage" verbage, but Huldah and Benjamin were apparently brother and sister. Benjamin was my grandfather's father. He married Bettie Jordan Bradley on 1/10/1888. They had 11 children. One of their children was Adkin Lee Harned b. 9/28/1901 d. 1/21/1987. He is my grandfather. Adkin Lee Harned had two natural children and two adopted children. The adopted children were Ronald Jay Dodd Harned (died this past October - nicknamed "Butch"), and Lloydean Joy Dodd Harned (nicknamed Joy). The two natural children were Adkin Lee Harned and Billie Jo Harned.

Billie Jo Harned is my mother. She married Bobby Andrew Wolford (now divorced) and had two children - Bobbi Jo Wolford (b. 11/28/70 - m. to Michael Joe Claywell) and Cabot Lee Wolford (b. 3/23/73).

I have a daughter named Bailey Jo Claywell - b. 6/12/03.

I have quite a few pictures of Great Grandpa Benjamin and his wife, Bettie Jordan Bradley Harned, as well as all of their children. They lived on an estate in Bunceton Missouri called Windermere Plantations. Windermere was inherited by my granddad, his brother George, and his brother Porter, and I believe Porter's adopted son inherited it when great-uncle Porter died. I don't know who owns it now.

Here is is as you wrote it below:

1 George Harned b: 1829 d: 1900
..+Marcia Ann Pash
.2 Hulda Blanford Harned
.2 Benjamin Harned
.....3 Adkin Lee Harned +Ethel Marie Anderson
.........4 Adkin Lee Harned (II) (called Lee)
........ 4 Billie Jo Harned + Bobby Andrew Wolford (div.)
............ 5 Bobbi Jo Claywell + Michael Joe Claywell
................6 Bailey Jo Claywell
............ 5 Cabot Lee Wolford

Goodness - I hope this all makes sense. Am I correct, then, in thinking that this cemetary is that of my direct ancestors?

If anyone is looking for pictures or information on this line from George (married to Marcia) on, I have quite a bit, and am putting together a pictoral family history for my Uncle (Adkin) Lee.

Bobbi Jo Claywell

My line is also James(Jacobus)Naegle Hubbs and Mary Blatchley. They had 9 children and thier 7th child, Ira Hubbs is in my line and his 3rd son was Platt Hubbs, who I believe is the father of Orlando Hubbs, who was a senator from North Carolina , who returned to Commack New York and is buried in Commack Cemetery. Platt's sister Sarah
Ann married Alfred Titus Brown and they are my great great grandparents on my mother's side. If this sounds like your line let me know. I have lots of info on the Hubbs.

Bobbi, The person's that Jeff and I have posted about are your and my husband's great-great-great grandparents. Jeff isn't related (as of yet) but became VERY interested in the family line as his parents bought a house in Boston KY in which the cemetery is at the back edge of the yard. I can give you much information on the Harned families in Boston as it is where my mother-in-law & husband grew up and is only a 20 minute drive away. Feel free to contact me off the list as I can send large amounts of information. kybarrelmom@earthlink.net

Coooooooooooooooooooooooooool!!!! We should all get together sometime at my parent's place in Boston. They love company and this could be like a family reunion of some sort. Oh yeah, another interesting tidbit in addition to the cemetary is that shading the tombstones are two very large Chestnut Trees. We've even had experts out there doing research on the trees in hopes of getting the species growing well again. Remember, the Chestnut blight of many years ago practically wiped out this species of tree.

Don't be a stranger and email me sometime if you'd like.

jeffrey_mattingly@yahoo.com

Jeff, your personal cemetary caretaker :) at your service
