I have noticed many postings in the Family Tree section with incorrect information. There are many Harpers with the names William, George Washington and Mark.
William born about 1775 had 5 sons and 4 daughters. The first son was George Washington born in 1797. This GW had a son named George Washington who was born in 1828 and who married Leithy White. Most Family Tree postings have him born in 1831 which is wrong. He also had a son named Mark. The other information about this family, I believe is correct.
William's third son was named Mark, who was born about 1807. This Mark had a son named George Washington born in 1831, who married Katherine Fuqua(y) and second Jane Evans. This GW (b. 1831) moved to Iron County Missouri, joined the Union Army and died in Tennessee in 1865. This GW's brother James had a son named William Mark and one named George Washington.
Any of you that have these people or dates mixed up, I hope that this helps. It took me quite a while to unravel it all. There are many more of the same name in the related family lines.
