I have Ann Eliza Harper born about 1834, James N. Harper born about 1836, William W Harper born about 1839 all in SC. I believe their mother was Ann Harper, but no clue on the father. I have found them in 1850 living in Richland County, SC.
James N. Harper married Abbigail Ballard in Montgomery County, NC in 1856 and had 2 children, Lydia Ann Harper and William Joseph Harper before moving to Arkansas between 1860 and 1880.
William W. Harper married Mary Sparks in Dallas County AR in 1873, they had 2 children Fannie Harper b. 1874 and Joseph Harper born 1876. He later married Ann McCaskill and had 5 children. Jeffie Ninah Harper b. 1880, Elanor Harper b. 1882, Hugh Solomon Harper b. 1885, James Silas Harper b. 1887, William Meyer Harper b. 1893
Ann Eliza Harper married John Crooks about 1855 in SC and lived in Hellers, Newberry Co. SC. They had at least 6 children, John James Crooks b. 1856, Anna J. Crooks b. 1858, William Dawkins Crooks b. 1864, Laura E. Crooks b. 1867, Sarah F. Crooks b. 1870, Viola Crooks b. 1873.
James and William both served the Confederacy in the civil war. James mustered out of Montgomery County NC, no clue where William joined. We have heard stories that one or both of them stopped off in Tennessee to visit cousins on the way to Arkansas.
