Finally!! Just when I thought no one gets it, someone does, another Harrell! I suspected, even hoped, there were other Harrell's out there of the 'harking' kind. This brought me a wonderful laugh out loud moment.
I'm still digging for Harrell's around Glascock County. Difficult family to trace. The names you gave are not on my list but I'll keep an eye open for them.

As far as I can tell this is not part of the Harrell
family that I am looking for. I am looking for the
parents to James Harrell, with B/D of 1808 and his
Grandparents, Hardy, 1760's and Barbaray. They
were from Va. and then into Ga.

Sorry I wish I had more for you.
B.J Bridges

Honestly, we thought we were the only and original family to say "hark, the Harrell angels sing"!! That's funny. And, yes, my husband's people stayed several interesting generations in Georgia, after migrating from the Carolinas. Harry William Harrell, born in 1872, in Sale City, Ga. He was father to my father-in-law, George Lewis Harrell, born in Meigs, Ga. Prior to Harry William, there were two Lewis Harrells. Do these names mean anything to you? Claudette Harrell

His wife, Vonna, died in 1961. They had a daughter, Vonnabeth. He is listed in the census as a Baptist minister. I do hot know which church he pastored in Houston. I would like to find out which church he pastored. I would like to find his obituary. Thanks brian

I believe this is John Greenberry Harrell, the orphaned son of William Duke Harrell and Rebecca Lucena Waters (b. 1810/1815).

While I am not a Harrell, my connection is two-fold. My ggg-grandmother was Elizabeth Ann Waters, b. Sep 1813. She may have been a relative of Rebecca. There's an E. David Waters, who was a major plantation owner (b. abt 1815), who named a daughter Rebecca L. Waters (b. 1848).

My gg-grandmother was a Daniel, and she married my gg-grandfather, Alexander Ewing Harris. AE appears to be connected to William James Berry Harrell's marrying Lillian Jane Goldwire (the orphaned Lilla lived with Harriet Lines Poindexter in Quincy, FL, along with my orphaned gg-grandfather and his brother in 1850). AE served with many Harrells in Campbell's Siege Artillery and 29th GA Battalion.

If the Waters listed above were siblings or cousins, that might answer some questions in my ancestry as to how some people met.

No, my Harrell line has no connections to Oklahoma or Alabama. That side of my family history was only in North Carolina and Virginia. Your photo must be from a different line than mine.

Sorry, it doesn't really fit in with my family. My Harrells are from Oklahoma and Alabama. I have a picture of my Grandfather, Richard Nelson Harrell taken about 1917 with the same background and chair. The pictures were in the same box with the same handwriting on the back. . Do you have any connections to Oklahoma or Alabama?

Hi, I would love to know what information you have about the Harrell family as well. I am descended from Jeremiah's son, William. I am an hour from Johnson Co., Indiana, and am planning to visit soon. I recently found a mention of William Harrell's death in a Franklin newspaper, an administrator's notice. I'm really hoping to find where they are buried. So much construction has occurred on the land that William Harrell owned. Do you know anything about the Harrell Cemetery in Johnson County. From what I know, it has been lost. My email is khassett07@hotmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you.

Re: Harrells of Quitman County, Ga.

I am a descendant of Daniel and Harriett Lane Harrell listed on the 1900 Berrien County census through their son, Jessie(Jesse). Daniel's DOB is stated as Aug 1853 and his and his parents' state of birth as North Carolina. Harriett's DOB is Nov 1858 and her place of birth is GA and her parents' place of birth as South Carolina. They had been married 22 yrs at the time of the census. Children listed are: Fronie, Joe, Jessie, Mary Jane, Martha, Frannie, Susan and Lucius. According to info I have Daniel and Harriett are buried in Poplar Springs Cemetary, Nashville, Berrien County.

Can this be the father of my Daniel Harrell? And if so, is my Daniel a Junior? As I am just starting my search, I have very little to share. Will be meeting with my aunt, the only living child of Jesse and Linnie Guthrie Harrell, at the end of this month.

Any info would be helpful. My email address is franwebber@yahoo.com
