Soloman W. Harris, who was injured on Aug. 18, 1956, when a car driven by Herman D. Thompson of Memphis, Tenn., plowed into a wrecked car near the Tombigbee River bridge, died Aug. 29, 1956 at the Tupelo Community Hospital. Mr. Harris sustained a fractured skull in the double wreck as the Thompson car hurled the wrecked car into a crowd of on lookers. He has been in the Tupelo Hospital since that time. He was a farmer of the Cherry Tree Community, and had lived in Itawamba County all of his life.
Funeral services were held Aug. 30 from the Hopewell Methodist Church with Hawkins Funeral Home of Fulton in charge.
