Hamlet P. Harrison was the youngest child of John Robert and Agness BYERS, born in St. Lawrence County, NY, USA on Oct 1, 1840. He died at Centralia, Washington on March 11, 1917.

At 8 years, he moved with his parents to Ontario, Canada. When old enough, he had hiw own farm. In 1865 he went to Minnesota, taking up an 80 acre homestead near Rush City.

On March 17, 1877, he married Dorothea Maria Sophia JARCHOW, Stillwater, Minnesota. Dorothea was born near Buffalo, New York on May 14, 1856 and moved with her parents: Frederick C. Jarchow and wife Dorothea VOSS to Minnesota. In childhood, she received her education at Stillwater, MN. She died in Centralia, WA on Jan 12, 1916.

Dora and Hamlet HARRISON lived near Rush City for four years. Two children were born: Alice Victoria April 1878 and Lilla Dora, Jul 1880.

In 1881, they were of the first families to settle in Walsh Co, ND. Grandfather Hamlet P. Harrison filed on both a pre-emption and a tree claim. Three more children were born in Dundee Township, Walsh Co, ND. They were unnamed, May 28, 1884, a stillborn; Adrian Auerel, born July 16, 1885, Ellen Ruth HARRISON, born Nov 17, 1889.

Dora harrison was a member of the methodist Church and also a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union for over 30 years.

Mother Lilla Dora HARRISON HILPERT died, age 87 in Sept 1967. She moved fra Edinburg with her family when she was 22 yrs and came to Centralia, WA, where she passed the remainder of her life. But Edinburg, ND was truly her heart's home and she would speak often of her friends as long as she lived: Sheppard, Peterson, Marifjeren, Kalgaard, Laithwaite, Bathgate, McIver, Almen and Baskerville.
