Stewart Kenneth Hartman, 93,
of 2001 83rd Ave. North Lot 1101, St. Petersburg, Fla., passed away May 29, 2008 at the Kinedred Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla.
He was born April 4, 1915 in Spring Grove and was the son of the late Ervin E. and Goldie O. Brenniman Hartman.
He was married to Dorothy Elizebeth Wren, whom he married June 24, 1936. She preceded him in death on Dec. 8, 2003.
Stewart attended Robb Elementary School in Lock Haven and graduated from Lock Haven High School.
Mr. Hartman served as a Staff Sgt. during World War II in the Pacific Arena and in Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
He was a 50-year member of the LaFayette Lodge 199 F &AM, Lock Haven, and a charter member of the Dunnstown Fire Co., where he had served as secretary and president. He was of the Lutheran faith.
Stewart worked for the A&P Tea Company for 47 years, retiring in 1977, after managing the Renovo, Lock Haven and St. Mary’s stores.
Survivors include a sister, Betty Fryer of Flemington, and a nephew, Kenneth G. Englert of Lock Haven.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, and two sisters, Edna Bardo
and Viola Miller.
Funeral services for Stewart Kenneth Hartman"
will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Officiating will be the Rev. W. Stevens Shipman of the United Lutheran Church.
Interment will be in Dunnstown Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received in the funeral home Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Memorials will be accepted to the Clinton County SPCA through the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home.
