I am able to shed some more light on this now as I have obtained a copy of the marriage certificate and Henry Towns did indeed marry Mary Hartshorn. The marriage took place at St Mary's in Bilston, Stafford on 10 October 1853 . I have found reference for birth in Family Search for a Mary Hartshorn 1833 in Newton, Ashton under Lyne. Parents are Joshua and Alice Lee. Just wondering if this is a connection to anyone here?
