This is general info for anyone searching Hartsough name. Walter Hartsough, Civil War, captured at Jonesville, VA. Rank of Sergeant. Was prisoner at Andersonville, GA. Co K, 16th Regt, Calvary, State of Illinois. Survived! I am a decendants of the Hartsoughs of Illinois, but they also lived in Iowa for a couple years. In a book called Andersonville, last chapter mentions a Hartsough who walked all the way home to "Iowa".
