The Ohio Hartups

According to my information, there were three brothers who went west from Delaware, Thomas, Joseph and James. They stopped in Ohio but James went on to Indiana and most of the messages seemed to refer to that branch. Joseph probably never married. Thomas married the widow Mary Conwell Leatham in 1797. I have a copy of the family Bible. They had five children (one set of twins) and she had six before (two sets of twins). He died in Jefferson or Harrison County in 1806. She died in Guernsey County OH in 1845 and is probably buried at Senecaville Cemetery but no one has been able to identify her grave.

Early Records

I just came across a handwritten message with John Dewey Hartup's genealogy material. And I quote
"John Hartup: spelled Heartup In 1790 told the census taker Kent Co. DE his family were as follows 1 under 10, 1...10-16, 1...16-26, 1...26-45 (my guess his wife), 1 over 45
(John)
Understand these were reproduced in 1800. You will notice no names except John given nor the exact age
Above given to me by Ruth McDivitt Denver CO" John would have written this before the 1950s. Anybody come across this reference?

Hi, my name is Roger Waite, married to Pam
Hartup, one of five daughters of Fred Hartup,
1914-1996. I have some family information that I will happily share.
Fred's family comes from the Old Kent Road area of S.E.London and presumably a distant ancestor emigrated to the USA. I have no information on this, do you? Fred's sister is still alive and I can let you know about her and remaining cousins.
