Ethel Hartwick b. abt. 1890 Orilla, Brock Twp., Ontario was a daughter of John Hartwick and Emma Freeland. She married Frederick Lavalee, b. abt 1878 Three Rivers, Quebec, son of Michael Lavalee and Catherine Dempsey, both of Quebec.

Ethel Hartwick's parents were John Allen Hartwick b. abt 1826 Clark's Mills, Camden East Twp., Lennox & Addington Co., ON and died Aug.30.1900 Lindsay Twp., Victoria Co., ON and Jean Baptiste b. Dec. 26.1830 Camden East Twp., Lennox & Addington Co., ON and died Jan.3.1912 Lindsay Twp., Victoria Co., ON. Her parents were Jean Baptiste and Mary Duval. John Allen Hartwick's parents were John A. Hartwick born 1791 somewhere in the USA and died Mar.25.1870 Camden East Twp., Lennox & Addington Co., ON and Mary Ann Kelly born 1801 Camden East Twp., Lennox & Addington Co., ON and died Aug.14.1883 Camden East Twp., Lennox & Addington Co., ON.

My puzzle is John A. Hartwick b. 1791 USA. I have no idea where he was born and whom his parents were, but it's possible he was born either in New York or New Jersey, and that his Hartwick ancestors originally came from Germany.
