Hertwick spelling advice needed

Hi, friends,
I have a great-grandmother Elizabeth, daughter of Joseph Hertwick in W. PA. While researching them, I've run across some spelling anomalies about which I need advice. Are ALL of these names variations of Hertwick? If not, please, somebody let me know which ones I should NOT include in my searches: Hertweck, Hartwick, Hartweck, Hardwick, Hertwig, Hertrick, Hardwig, Hardrick, or even others? Any advice or direction would be much appreciated. I have a few families documented in case anyone else could use info about them in that area (Bradys Bend and Pittsburgh area).

I am interested in Lottie, sister to Sherman. She was married to a Martin, first name unknown. Do you know his name? Was she also married to a Elmer Lovelady? Leonard was the son of Jacob Hartwick. His mother was Sarah Sophronia Hartwick, daughter of George and Elenore Temperance "
Tempe" Brumley. George was the son Of Joseph Coonrod and Susanna Cagle. Jacob was the son of Leonard Hartwick and Delilia Cagle. Leonard was the son of Joseph Coonrod Hartwick and Susanna Cagle. Joseph was the son of Joseph Hartwick, and mother unknown.

Using this one since it's the latest.
On the subject of changes it the name/spelling:
I have been doing research on Hartswick Note the S.
In early census in Centre Co PA the name shows up as
Hartwick and later with the S. There is the question of
the census taker misspelling or actually changing name.

John and Barent Hartwick of Rocky Hill, NJ in 1782

I am looking for information the crew members of the Whale Boat General Green, Captained by Peter Nefies, all serving in the flotilla of Capt. of Adam Huyler/Hyler of New Brunswick, NJ who included:

John Nefies, James, John, Garret, Luke Van Voorhees, John Hartwick, Julian Morris all of New Brunswick NJ, Edward Forman/Furman of Rocky Hill, NJ,William Wright of CT and John Richardson of Baltimore.

After the death of Adam Hyler in August of 1782, the crew made one more raid and were captured and taken to the Provost Jail in NYC in Sept. of 1782 and were still there until the war ended although some may have been traded.

If anyone has further information on John Hartwick and his son Barent or this crew, it would be most appreciated.

John, a boatman was probably the man who died about 2 January 1784 with out a will.

William Hartwick did marry Nancy Weaver. Nancy was the sister of Winnifred E. Weaver who married Jehu Whitted, Jun 1827 in Orange County North Carolina. Winnifred and Jehu's daughter, Sarah Whitted/Whitehead married Fenner Williams.

Parents of Nancy Weaver were Arthur and Sarah Price Weaver.

Jehu and Winnifred were my gr grandparents.

I see that you are researching an Ethel Hartwick married to a LaValle.

I am also a hartwick descendant and was born in Lindsay,Ontario.

I have a copy of the marriage registration of Fred and Ethel`s marriage.

I have been researching the Hartwick family since 1989 and have been trying to locate all the descendants that i can.

I found the death record for Charlotte Young (nee Dunham). Is this the mother of Martha Young and siblings that you're searching for? When Martha married George Washington Hartwick the marriage record shows her parents as John and Charlotte Young, it also stated that Martha was born in East Gwillimbury and that she was living in Lindsay, Victoria Co. when they married.

I am trying to find information about my husband's 3rd great-grandfather John A. Hartwick, said to be born about 1791 in New York State, USA and died in Ontario, Canada. I have not had any luck locating his parents. John Hartwick married Mary Ann Kelly from Ontario.

One of their sons, George Hartwick born 1841 in Ontario, married Rosannah Jane Thompson from Ontario. From what I've seen from information posted on family trees, they both died in Saginaw, Michigan.

I wonder if these would be related to your Hartwick families that moved from NY to Ontario to Michigan?

Isabell Hartwick has died prior to the 1911 Census because Daniel and his daughter Emma Evangeline are living alone in Kennebec, Frontenac.

Daniel Mosier had first been married to Henrietta Amelia Hayes (1854-1879), daughter of William Ryerson Hayes and Ann Rose. Daniel and Henrietta had one daughter per birth records on Ancestry, Mary Ann Mosier born Feb.28.1879 Kennebec, Frontenac Co.

Daniel Mosier's death record May 2.1930 Oshawa shows the informant as his daughter Mrs. W. Crowe of Wainwright, Alberta. I can't find marriage records for any of the children born to Daniel Mosier. Can anyone help me?

Ethel Hartwick b. abt. 1890 Orilla, Brock Twp., Ontario was a daughter of John Hartwick and Emma Freeland. She married Frederick Lavalee, b. abt 1878 Three Rivers, Quebec, son of Michael Lavalee and Catherine Dempsey, both of Quebec.

Ethel Hartwick's parents were John Allen Hartwick b. abt 1826 Clark's Mills, Camden East Twp., Lennox & Addington Co., ON and died Aug.30.1900 Lindsay Twp., Victoria Co., ON and Jean Baptiste b. Dec. 26.1830 Camden East Twp., Lennox & Addington Co., ON and died Jan.3.1912 Lindsay Twp., Victoria Co., ON. Her parents were Jean Baptiste and Mary Duval. John Allen Hartwick's parents were John A. Hartwick born 1791 somewhere in the USA and died Mar.25.1870 Camden East Twp., Lennox & Addington Co., ON and Mary Ann Kelly born 1801 Camden East Twp., Lennox & Addington Co., ON and died Aug.14.1883 Camden East Twp., Lennox & Addington Co., ON.

My puzzle is John A. Hartwick b. 1791 USA. I have no idea where he was born and whom his parents were, but it's possible he was born either in New York or New Jersey, and that his Hartwick ancestors originally came from Germany. If you have access to US records or may have any information about the Hartwick ancestors of this family and would be able to help me in any way, I'd greatly appreciate it. Bill, when I looked up JC's Chr. record in the German film several years ago, the name was listed as "Harwich"...that's why I added that spelling to the top of the web site....and yet all written account of JC in anything we've read are spelled "Hartwick"....
But it's something to think about...all the different spellings. I do know that there are a lot of HARTWIG families and HARTRICK families, and I'd sure hate to plow through all those records....I gotta survive that Hartwick research!

21 Sept 1908
This was based on the 1911 Orillia census listing husband John Young as widow.

Hi, do you have any information on a John Hartwick, born about 1778 in New York, married to Eunice Waters? We believe that he was the son of John Burke (Burt) Hartwick, but do not have it documented. He had two children that I know of, CHarles Waters Hartwick born 1807 and Peter Hartwick born 1806, both in Ontario, Canada.

Leonard and Fannie were married 20 Jul 1873 in Van Buren County. Leonard parents were Leonard and Rebecca Matilda ? (no last name as of yet) Then Leonard parents were Leonard and Delila
? (no last name as of yet) Then Leonard parents were Coonrod Hartwick and Susanna Cagle. I descend from their son and Leonard's brother, John. Hope this helps.

Newfield, Willow Grove, Elmer and Vineland NJ are the possibilities I know of. I have possible news from Lindsey Ontario on an Ethel LaVall married to a Fred Lavall. Haven't gotten as far as my grandparent's family as yet. Look forward to hearing back from you! Thanks.

My grandmother and grandfather were both born in Ontartio Canada. Grandfather was Fred A LaValle or Lavall. They lived by us in New Jersey, dying in the 1960s. My father, their son, was Fred D LaValle. I found a Fred Lavall married to Ethel Hartwick on a Canadian database but couldn't get beyond that. Ethel's parents were, I think, John Baptiste Hartwick and Emma Eliza Freeland. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks very much!

My name is Jessica Hartwick and I am trying to make a family tree. All I know is that my fathers name is John Hartwick and my mothers name is Brenda Budd. I think that they met in Manitoba. I was born on March 22, 1982. I was told that my fathers birthday was march 22 as well. The last place that I know that he lived was in Kingston Ontario and has two other daughters.
