Hi Kathy,
I just found your reply to my inquiry. I'm so sorry I didn't catch it until now!
I'm still at a dead end as far as Lillian Harty Lowe goes. I was able to find her in a census where it stated her father was from England and her mother from Scotland. Other than that... nothing. She is my great-grandmother on my dad's side. (His mother's mother.)
I am intrigued by the name Jonathan Niles Harty in your note as there are also Niles in my family tree. My dad's father's mother was Jennie McCalester (Maiden name-Niles) In other words, Lillian Harty Lowe's daughter married Jennie Niles McCalester's son. I suppose it's possible the combination of names are a coincidence but what are the odds of that in Iowa?
Were you able to find out anymore about Jonathan?
Again, I apologize for my extremely late response.
Thanks,
Jan
