My grandmother, Margaret Hartzell Walker, was Elmer's sister. He disapeared to our family sometime in the 1950's and we spent years trying to find him. I did find his SS death notice online, which stated that he passed away in Orange County California. I know that he was born in November and was in WWII. He fought in the battle of the bulge where his feet froze and he was taken off the line. I do have a few snap shots of him in our family pictures somewhere and would be glad to share copies with you. I also have photos of his parents and grandparents. His Dad's name was Whiley Dexter Hartzell and his mother was Cora Blanche Magers. She went by Blanche. she died when Elmer was young. There were several children in that family, Elsie, Margaret, william, and Elmer and I believe Elmer was the baby of the family. Please let me konw if you get this as I would like to know more about how we are related and what happened to Uncle Elmer once he disappeared from us. My mother and Uncles, all who knew him well are still living and might be a great source of information for you.
