my wife and i went to montreal for the Lions international convention 3 or 4 years ago and
drove down to Huntingdon Canada. We went to the historical musuem and found the person in charge and he found the cenetery, church
(church of scotland ) and records in Montrel from the church giving us the baptismal records for all of Mary & Ducan children. we were taken to the cemetary and found duncan cattnach fathers grave ( Hugh )
and had a very good time. I still belong to the historic society in Hundingdon.
LeMars Iowa is in plymouth county iowa, which is just 50 miles south of where we live. It been 4 or 5 years since we were down there looking up the records. We found David & cathrine graves and obituaries, we got copies from looking in old newspapers, they are very interesting. We found Duncan and finely ( mary's brothers grave ) and obituaries, but all we could find on Mary was Duncan had bought a 8 cemetary plots in 1882 and in all census records after that we found no trace of Mary. We found in Duncan's obituarie that he out lived his wife by about 20 years which would be the time he purchased the cemetary plots. We checked the news paper on microfilm, but there were some issues missing and some not read able. There is no grave marker for Mary or and church records on here death and we couldn't find any cemetary records. In 1882 western Iowa didn't have real good records, they seem to impove by around 1900.
