George Hatfield (1792-1810)
I am tired of using some of the family tree hints that are unsourced, so I have been trying to get as much factual info about my line of Hatfields as possible.
So far- I am sure of the following from most recent to latter. Most of you will agree there is too much confusion and misinformation- so if you help- please!
The following information can be sourced to census data records and reliable research.
I am from Tennessee, my dad, still living , is from Grainger County, Tenn. His mother was a Lawson, born 1906 in Hancock County and died in Knoxville, Tenn 1975. Her mother was Martha Luvernia "Vernia" Hatfield, born in Hancock County 1879. Her marriage to J.T. Lawson produced 8 children. She died in 1944 in Corryton, Tenn- though I cannot say that she is buried in that town.
Luvernia was reported as a respectable and noble woman. Her dad was George Hatfield of Hancock County (1854-1939) . He was married to a Nancy Victoria Winkler (1854-1939), who, as far as I can find was raised since the age of 5 until the age of 16 at the Brewer Home in Hancock County. Not much on Victoria and since her birth and death date are recorded as the same as her husband's, it was probably undocumentable. George and "Victoria" had 12 children.
This George Hatfield's dad is reported by the census record to be Lynch Hatfield (1816-1868 ) who married a Frances Jane Dodson (1821-1863).
of Claiborne Tennessee.
Lynch's father was Ralph Hatfield ( B: 1788 in Virginia and died 1870 in Hancock, Tennessee. He marrried Susan "Suki" Morgan (1792-1870) of Hancock County, TN. As noted, they died the same year.
Ralph (1788-1870) father was George Hatfield of Virginia (1752-1810).
He was married to a Sarah from Lee, Virigina (1752) who died in 1836 in Claiborne County.
This is where it begins to get confusing with all the Georges, Abraham, etc.
It appears that George Hatfield (1792-1810) was the son of Abraham (Abraham George?) (Ab. Jr.?) 1715-1795 (B: Virginia> D. Kentucky?)
This Abraham (who may be named George also) appears to be the son of Abraham Hatfield (1695 New Jersey-1749- New Jersey).
Abraham's father was also Abraham (Ab. Senior?) Born in New Jersey in 1670-died in NJ in 1720.
From here it looks like there is a conection to Matthias Hatfield.
Does anyone have any reliable information or acknowledgement of my research. Correction is most welcome. I am thinking about going to the 2009 reunion and would like to make sure I am on the right track.
Thank you for your time ! Email me @ rrm531@comcast.net if you can help.
