Frank Hauber and Magdalena Heinzmann Hauber lived in Germany and Manhattan, NY

I am looking for information on Frank Xavier Hauber who lived at Parkstrasse 3 in Munchen, Germany. He was born about 1868 and married Magdalena (Lena) Heinzmann in Manhattan, NY on January 17, 1886. His father was Franz Hauber and his mother was Elise Bartel Hauber. He died November 18, 1952. He immigrated to the US in 1878. The family lived at 467 West 46th Street in Manhattan.

Magdalena's parents were Joseph Heinzmann and Marie Eisele Heinzmann. She immigrated in 1883 to the US.

Their children:
Frank Hauber- born May 5, 1888 in Manhattan, NY
It looks like he might have married a woman named Ida and had two children Ethel b about 1914 and Frank b about 1915. He then married again a woman named Edith and the had two children Florence b about 1922 and Otto born about 1925.

Anna Hauber Schmit Brown (my great grandmother) born Jan 5, 1890 in Manhattan. She died in 1977. She married George Corwin Schmit and they had a son George Corwin Schmit. Her husband died I think around 1918. She remarried Earle H. Brown (from Canada) and they had two children Walter and Earle Brown. They lived around Middletown, NY.

Elizabeth Hauber born in Manhattan, NY Oct 26, 1891 and died July 15, 1892.

Frances Hauber born 1894 in Manhattan. In the 1920 census she is married and her last name is Fenner.

Otto Anthony Hauber born 1898 in Manhattan, NY

John Hauber was born about 1900 in Manhattan,NY

William Hauber was born around 1911 in Manhattan, NY. Later he lived in Ridgewood, NJ.

That's about all I found out except that Frank X may have been married before while living in Germany and may also have a daughter named Euphrosine Falter who to my knowledge never came to the United States.

Any other information would be appreciated.

ACES

Hi,
I'm extracting information from the Stevens County (Washington) Medical Society Minutes. Dr. Charles Anderson HAUBER is in the Chewelah area for about three years, 1916 - 1919. Per his WA Death Record, his father was Martin H. Hauber. Mother was Phoebe SAYSLOR. Census records indicate he was born in Washington State in 1867. Dr. HAUBER died in Centralia, Washington 29 January 1925.

Is anyone following this family? I would like to obtain a picture of Dr. Charles HAUBER to add to the images of the minutes when they are posted to the website, www.crossroadsarchive.net.

Sue Richart
Crossroads on the Columbia

Dear Linda,
I am researching HAUBER and ALTMANN families from Wurttenberg, specifically, Ellenberg, Hauber-Bronn, and Stuttgart, and Ellwangen.
I am 63 years of age. My sister is called LINDA, she is 61!! So I wonder is this a coincidence or a name that was used in other HAUBER families.
I live in Adelaide South Australia.
Who are you looking for?
regards, Dianne

I have a some information on the Hauber family. Seven brothers came to the US, entering in Philadelphia. Most of them stayed in the area; two went to St. Mary, PA. What do you need? I've been working on the tree for a few years, even going to the St. Mary's area to track down the two up there. Don't have the whole tree, but you are welcome to what I have.

Hey Philip, Great news! I am just back from a break. I believe Matthaus came out as you say on the Masala with his sister but went back for Leonard and Anna; they were married 6.10.1886 Wirrabera SA. Len married Evalena Johns Ceril's sister. I see your Mum would have been Laural (?) I don't know anything about Saarsland unless it is a province, all info I have refer to only Ellenberg and Matthaus Death Cert.states he was born Ellenberg. Anna (nee Altmann) was born Pfahlheim not very far away. Len had 2 sons, Rex and Leonard Eric, my Father(eventually Eric as it was too confusing). If you send me yout email address i can send you details conversely I am in Melbourne (and listed) Cheers
Leigh

Kaspar Furst, with his wife, (Ursurla) Marie sailed from Hamburg aboard the steamer, Marsala, on Aug 5, 1883, arriving Semaphore, South Australia, on Oct 8 or 9, 1883. Matthias Hauber was naturalised in Adelaide on Oct 10, 1883 (the record states that he had been in South Australia 2 days), indicating he may well have travelled with them. The Marsala continued on with the remainder of the passengers disembarking in Sydney.

Hi Leigh, My great grandparents were also Matthias and Anna (nee Altmann) Hauber of Wirrabara, South Australia. Matthias naturalisation is as follows:
Naturalisation (he wasn't born SA)
HAUBER Mathaus; farmer of Adelaide; native of Segemuhle, Wurtenberg, Empire of Germany; age 27 y; in SA 2 days; Memorial 10-10-1883 signed Matthaus HAUBER; Source(s) A711.

Thus it looks like he arrived in Adelaide just 2 days before 10Oct 1883.
I can not even find Segemuhle in Germany but the literal translation appears to be "sawmill".
Their daughter Anna Hauber married my grandfather, Cecil Barkley Johns. Interestingly Cecil's siter, Eveleena married a Leonard Hauber, born 1887. I can find no information about Leonards parents but assume he was the son of Matthias nad Anna.
My late mother said the Haubers came from Saarland which is close but this is only word of mouth. I would be delighted to have you as a guest on my tree which is still very much under construction.
I am still seeking details on the decendants of Matthias and Anna Hauber.
Cheers
Philip Pauley

Mary Ann Hauber, oldest of the children born to Joseph & Josephine Mak/Mack, was born in 1809. Came with her husband , Jospeh Fiele and six of their 8 children to America in 1846, or about then. Settled in St Marys, Elk Co PA.
As I said, Joseph had a large family with two wives. Keep in mind, there is room for one or two generations before your Haubers are born. I am not sure the two families are related, or if so, how. I know a brother of Mary's was a Sebastian Hauber. I also believe Joseph Hauber was a town mayor - but called something else back then. A cousin of mine, Fr Lavern Flach, had researched all this thru the German records. I have some copies, and will try and locate them for you. Through the German Records, and his translation - which he got pretty good at for their all in old German, he also took the Hauber family back a few more generations. Fr Flach passed away a few years back. Not sure what happen to the book of info he had gathered. The German records were in the LDS files.
I recall Ellenburg - because my great-great-grandmother, Maria Anna Feile was baptized there after her birth on May 16, 1839. On that record is also the name of the church.
48 years of research - never throw much away, and I will find it soon.
John Hauber was one of seven brothers who came from Wurteemberg, Germany, and settled in Philadelphia. The brothers were : Frank - 1926, Christopher - 1828, Sebastian -1829, Gottlieb - 1834, William - 1836, and George - 1837. Some of the Hauber family left Philadelphia and went to St. Mary, PA. Some of the seven brothers worked as farmers; others were cabinet makers, wheelwrights, and a watchmaker.
Gottlieb Hauber was my paternal great-great-great grandfather. He owned a farm in the Germantown section of Philadelphia and my family has pictures of it.
Hope this helps.

My ggrandfather Augustus Hauber dissappeared in NZ abt 1914. My ggrandmother stated on a pension request in 1924 that "Ibelieve him to be dead . Iproduce letters from him & the secretary C>P>O (or this could be G>P>O> Wellington New Zealand.". It also states that he dissappeared abt 20 rys ago & is believed to have died at this time. CAN anyone from NZ help me in determining what government body those 3 letters could be refering to.
JOSEPH XAVIER HAUBER AND HIS FATHER AUGUST

Joseph was born June 22,1846 in the vicinity of Ellwangen,Wuerttemberg,Germany. AsI can find more specifically Wuerttemberg> Ellwangen> Stimpfach> Eichishof.Joseph went to the U.S.A. in 1864 and passed away there in 1933. All vital records for Joseph in the U.S. refer to his being from "Germany or Wuerttemberg only.I have visited the Ellwangen area and have searched everywhere but not come up with anything on them even with the great help from the L.D.S. in Ellwangen. My search has continued to be a long one with no verification that my ggrandfather and his father were indeed from Eichishof. I'm beginning to think August got caught up in the wars or revolutions of the time and that was why Joseph left Germany young and alone.
Any help would be appreciated,
Harold Shrader

Moved from Seneca Falls, NY, to Winneshiek County, Iowa, in 1865; married Margaretha HORN (my gr-grandfather's sister) on 12 Mar 1854 and died 29 Mar 1894 near Ridgeway, Winneshiek Cty, IA,. Have a copy of his Naturalization and some info from a researcher that indicated that he immigrated from Regensburg, GRD, with a brother.
Hauber, Stage Wedding Announcement, Peshastin, WA

"Couple Wed at Home Ceremony"
A lovely bride was Miss Inez May Stage, daughter of Mrs. Emma Stage of Leavenworth, whose recent marriage to William H. Hauber, son of George A. Hauber, also of Leavenworth, was solemnized at the home of Mr. and Mrs. B.F. Morgan of Peshastin.
For her wedding, the bride chose a floor-length gown of white jersey and a finger-tip veil held by stephanotis. Upon a white Bible with ribbon streamers of sweet peas, she carried two gardenias. The twin nieces of the bride, Naoma, and Norma Stage lighted the candles and while the wedding party stood before the white altar, the Rev. Jay Eller read the single ring ceremony. For going-away the bride wore a blue ensemble.
The new Mrs. Hauber is a graduate of Leavenworth high school, and Eastern Washington College of Education. The groom attended Peshastin and Wenatchee schools, and since entering the service in 1940 has been with the army transport and the Port of Embarkation in Seattle. After June 5, they will be at home at Seaburst, South Seattle.
