I am a descendant of Isaac Hauser and I can safely relate that neither he nor his wife were killed in the 1900 storm. They survived in the second story of their dry goods store only because the debris wall from the storm stopped approximately 300 feet short of that location.
Anthony Hauser, son of Ronald, grandson of Abe, great grandson of Isaac.

Hello Jane, Thanks for the reply. I am sure we are related but I dont think you Barbara is the one I am looking for. I found the Barbara Hauser I was looking for, she was born April 1, 1851 in Trasadinger, Schaffhausen, Switzerland. Her parents were George and Anna Marie Hauser. Barbara died in St. Joseph Missouri in 1880. She was married to George Mueller of Lohningen, Schaffhausen, Switzerland. Where are your Hausers from? I would suspect Trasadingen which is where most originated from. A lot of villagers from the Canton of Schaffhausen immigrated and setttld in Akron, Ohio. So I am sure there is a connection with either your Barbara or Louis Mueller. What village was Louis from in Switzerland. My email is agmuel@aol.com I look forward to hearing from you. Austin Mueller

Austin, I'm pretty sure we're related! Barbara Hauser was my great-grandmother. She was born Aug. 9, 1852 and married LOUIS Mueller in 1875 in Akron. They had 11 children, and one of them (Anna) was my grandmother. I would be happy to collaborate if you would share your email address. - Jane Walker Schopper

I have been very successful in finding the gravesites of my Hauser ancestors, (up to my 5th great-grandfather)with the exception of my 2nd great-grandparents, John R and Julia Ann Davis Hauser. Ancestry.com indicates John's death occurred in Forsyth County, NC, and Julia's death occurred in "Vienna, NC", which is now also part of Forsyth County. Any suggestions where I might extend my search? I have combed through Findagrave.com, but to no avail. Thanks for any help!

Unfortunately, you have more information about her than I do.

I do, however, have a third child born of Sophia's second marriage: Russel Leo Hauser (b. 1903 in Unknown - d. 1957 in Unknown). My source for the information about Russel Leo is the Hauser family genealogist, Dr. Paul H. Bardell, 46 Wellington Drive, Carmel, New York 10512. If you contact him, he can probably give you his source for this information.

Sorry I cannot be of more help. Good luck on your further researches.

Rollie Hauser

Rolland K.
Seeking information re: wife of Sylvanius D. Hauser who was b. abt 1859 NC, died between 1900-1910 in NC (Census). In 1896 in NC he married Sophia W. Finch Lloyd, b.1859 in NC; parents William and Indiana Hunt Finch. Sophia was first married to Thomas Catron Lloyd of Washington Co, VA in March 1875 in Forsyth Co, NC; & they had two daughters, Inez b. 1876 NC and Viola b. 1879 NC. She apparently divorced Mr. Lloyd. Married Sylvanius D. Hauser (b. Abt 1859 NC) in 1896 NC. They had two children; Ida Irene Gray Hauser b. 1897 NC and Sylvanius Wood Hauser b. Jun 1899.

Sophia W. Hauser is found in 1920-40 census records in Richmond, VA and was found listed in a 1943 city directory. She was widowed and was earlier listed as a seamstress. Does anyone know when she died and where she is buried? Tried Find-a-Grave to no avail. Thanks in advance for any help anyone may provide!

Mr. Hauser died between 1900-1910 (census)

Helen Hauser

I am looking for Helen Hauser descendents. She was last known as living in Kansas City with her husband, who at the time was Joseph T Alders. They divorced in 1904, and she was left to raise her two sons, Otto and Louis from an earlier marriage. Her husband prior to Joseph T was George Mueller when she lived in St Joseph, Missouri. She is listed as immigrating from Switzerland around 1880. She may have had a sister, Barbara Hauser Mueller, who was married to George Mueller prior to her. Any information on Helen greatly appreciated. I have lots of family information to share. Austin Mueller

Regard Kaspar Hauser: My great aunt Barbara Hauser was from Trasadingen, Schaffhausen, Switzerland and the Hauser family was one of the founding families of the village. Trasadingen is right on the German border in what is now, Wurtenburg. Kaspar is a popular name in that area. I know some other Hausers from the village settled in Akron, Ohio. Barbara Hauser, with a birth of 1851 in Trasadingen, immigrated with her husband, George Mueller, and I have not been able to find a trace of her. If you have infor please let me know.
Adolph Hauser - Any New Info?

I have been trying for a few years now to find any info on Adolph Hauser.

My g'mother wasn't to sure of the family side of the gentleman who was my mother's dad, Robert Edwin Hauser. It seemed to be a fly-by-night relationship and he was killed in an accident when my mother was young, so she never really knew him or the extended family.

I've discovered on here, his father was Daniel Hauser, son of Adolph Hauser & Olive Emory Mcgrew. But I keep hitting a wall as to who this man was. I know he came from Switzerland in 1888 and I've been able to come across quite a few other 'Hauser' that immigrated at that time and their lineage, but not his.

He was on the William Penn ship in 1868 with his brother Julius Hauser. They were 9(Adolph) and 14(Julius). No other family members are listed on the ship.

On Ancestry.com the US site, I have moved my search to Julius maybe being able to turn up his lineage and I have linked him with 13 other siblings of the parents "John C. Hauser" and "Elizabeth Keinholz".
My discovery came from this site:
http://howellhistory.com/hauser.html#Family%20Tree

Is it possible that the first 2 children (Julius & Adolph) were sent to the US and being so young, the rest of the family at the time stayed in Switzerland? Could it be that the person who designed the linked site was unaware of Julius & Adolph and this is why they are not listed as the first 2 children in this family?

I know it sounds like a long shot, but crazier things have happened and it actually sounds possible.

Thank you for any insight,
Veronica

I have checked my extensive Hauser family file, and I have no one named Dawson Hauser in it. The best thing to try to find out in order to start looking for European relatives in Switzerland or Germany would be to learn the name of Dawson's father, his immigration date, and his place of residence at the time of his immigration. Without this information, you are facing a formidable brick wall.

Good luck on your continued researches.

Cheers. Rollie Hauser

Hi Cindy
Kris and I are related and so are you! Ludwig was my great grandfather also and my grandfather was Alfred, Edwards's brother and my mother was Alfred's daughter Alfreda, youngest of 4 children. She passed 2008 at the age of 84.
Ludwig was Ernest's brother. We can finally fit some of the pieces together and we all have descendants from Fritz Hauser. It'll be great to fill in that part of the family tree.
Nancy

Good afternoon, Bob,

I found more census information about Louis Hauser, my Hauser ancestor who lived in California. According to various census records, he was born in Switzerland around 1869, he immigrated to New York 1894 with his widowed mother, Eliza or Elizabeth. In the 1900 Census Louis was still in New York, occupation: Hotel Cook. In the 1910 Census, Louis appears at West Fortieth Place in Los Angeles, CA, wife Mathilde, occupation: Cook at The California Club. In the 1920 Census Louis appears on Adair Street, in Los Angeles, CA, working as a cook for a private family. This is compatible with my grandmother's family legend that Louis worked for silent film star Mary Pickford. In the 1930 Census, Louis lives on 2nd Avenue, occupation: a Chef at a Residence.

Unfortunately, in these census records, no children are listed, and in my research of this family group, there are no men named Robert, however there were unnamed siblings still in Switzerland, and I'm still checking.

Please check my family tree page for more information, and let me know if you have any questions I can help with.

Sincerely,
Jan

Any Hauser family link to yours would, therefore, have to have come from brothers left behind in Europe in 1727.

Good luck in your continuing researches.

Cheers.
Nancy do you have another email address that I could email them to you at?? George went to Los Angles California. I have a letter he sent Grandpa(Ed) in 1922. He died in 1947, October. He was married twice I do believe and had 3 children. August not sure about but will look at the information I have here. I think he ended up in Oregon. Not sure about Eliza. I do have a copy of a reciept that L. F. Hauser had ordered two Tombstones for George S. (1885-1887) and Eleonora A. (1899-1901). I also have a letter that my Dad received from a Gene Winter from Oregon in the late 90s. He was a cousin who was coming to Kansas to visit I know that he did stop and see Dad. Just need to find the letter to let you know what it said.
K. Hauser Epa
