Hello all,
My name is Chad Hauver, I live in New Hampshire, originally from northern Vermont. I'm not much of a geneaology buff myself, but I 'inherited' some work that was done by a distant cousin in CA, and would be happy to share with anyone interested.
I believe that the earliest ancestor described in the info I have is a Christian Haber, from Germany.

Robert Beebe Hawver/Hauver

I am looking for more information on Robert Beebe Hawver, born 6/22/1896 in Greenville, Ohio--according to his WW I draft card. He shows up living with his grandmother, Margaret Pottenger, in Camden, from 1910. His father was born in Kirkwood, OH, and Robert was a medical student in 1918.

1900 Greenville, Ohio Census shows a C.E. Hauver, b. 11/1859 in Maryland, physician, widowed, with son, Robt B, 3, born Ohio. This is probably Clarence E. Hauver, son of John C. Hauver and Sarah Wachtel.

But info on Robert's draft card re father's name spelling and birthplace do not match Clarence.

Any help?

Believe I'm a descendant of Orgel & Anna Catharina (HABER)
HEUSER/HEISER. Orgel & younger brother George Peter
HEUSER/HEISER who married Christina HABER were sons
of Johann Peter HEUSER, b.1670 Nieder Ramstadt and
2nd wife widow Elizabetha CHRISTMANN m.1710/11 in
East Camp, Livingston Manor. Johann Peter HEUSER had
a son Johann Peter HEUSER, b.1693 Nieder Ramstadt with
Ottilia SCHNEIDER, d/o Lorentz SCHNEIDER of Pfungstadt.
Jr. seems to have been left unaccounted for after 1712.
Would enjoy any info you may have found on Christian
HABER & family. The HEUSER surname changed spellings
many times: HEISER, HEYSER, HEIZER, HYZER, HYSER,
& HIZER.

Hauver

First off, my email address has changed to: marg@kingcon.com
The information I have says both Benjamin & Elizabeth (Harter) Hauver were born in Rotterdam, Holland in 1779, of German descent. They settled between Schnectady & Albany, NY before 1819. In 2829, they moved to Mystic, Quebec, settled in Stanbridge where they ran the Hauver Tavern. The previous information came from a 5th generation descendant, who had their German hymn book. I would like to know their religion. They are buried in the Vaugham Cemetery in Stanbridge. Would also like to know the name of the ship they came over on & where it sailed from. From another source I found Benjamin's parents were as follows: Christian Hauver, born in Germany 29 Sept. 1726, and that his mother was Engle Reuter, his spouse Elizabeth Harter. I would like to know more about my German heritage - the area where they lived, what they did for work, etc. Can anyone give me a source? I have tried & tried, to no avail.

Shirley Yetter: Interested in your Christian Haber/Hauver. I recently found on the Web the following information:
HAUVER, Benjaminl spouse Elizabeth Harter; his parents Christian Hauver and Engle Reuter, b. Germany.
Believe I am descended from the Benjamin Hauver who lived in Stanbridge, Quebec, ran the Hauver Tavern there. Years ago I received some Hauver information via an item posted in the Genealogical Helper magazine; it was copied by L. E. Primmerman, who added his own notes. My E-Mail address has changed: marg@kingcon.com. Please email me. Nancy G. Leete

Interested in your Hauver/Haber line. My gggfather was Benjamin Hauver, m. Elizabeth Harter; both born probably Rotterdam 1779, settled near Albany NY, moved to Mystic, Que., then Stanbridge, Que. where they ran the Hauver Tavern. Their son, Philip m. Clarinda Schoolcraft, they had several children, moved to Stanstead, Que.; their daughter, Ann Amelia m. Hiram Gould, lived in Derby, Vt. Ann Amelia died in Newport, Vt., is buried in Eastside Cemetery there. Found on a web site the other night where Benjamin Hauver's wife was Elizabeth Harter & his parents were Christian Hauver & Engle Reuter, born in Germany. My email address has changed: marg@kingcon.com.
2/15/02
Dear Shirley,
I am a 6th generation descendant of the Hauvers, and am very much interested in what more information you have, and look forward to hearing from you. My information says the Hauvers moved from N.Y. state to Mystic, Quebec in 1819 and then built the Tavern & moved to Stanbridge, moving
again in 1863 to Stanstead Quebec. Part of the info I have idicates that Philip married Clarinda Schoolcraft and listing 3 children: Amesty, Amelia and Christopher. However, I had a bible that belonged to Amelia (my grandmother), listing 6 children, including Amelia, but not the other 2. The bible also shows her name as Ann Amelia
Other information shows Benjamin & Elizabeth were born in Rotterdam, Holland in 1779 (not 1775)
I am looking forward to your reply.
Sincerely, Nancy
