wow I can't believe I wrote this 8 yrs ago. At that time I believed that Annie was born in Boston. I have since learned that she was born in Newfoundland but again that's all I know about her. I'm wondering if she really died or just left william.. It's really bizare that I can't find one shread of information on her..

I'm descened from Honorah's sister Margaret. Looking through parish records for Rahan, Co.Offaly a few years ago, I found an Honor Heeven bapt 2 May 1828. Her father was Patrick.
Could be the same person since Margaret Haven was b. abt 1837 in Rahan (tho I never found her in the parish register). Her parents were Patrick Haven and Catherine McDermid.
Margaret came to NZ on the Edward Thornhill in 1863/64 with her husband Hugh Molloy. She died at Gummies Bush in 1880.
Do you know if they had any other siblings?

Beverly, it was so sweet for you to post this message. Yes this was our long lost niece from our sister in the Houston area. We are so proud to have found her, she is such a beautiful young lady, it is so sad she was kept from her family to enjoy all the years we have missed her.

Sgt. Richard Haven (1618-1703)is my 8th GGF. I am still searching for the proof of the birth, marriage and death of my 4th GGM Roxsa Haven, born about 1776 (maybe in Sandisfield, Berkshire Co., MA) and died sometime after 1820(maybe somewhere in NY). She married before 1794 (probably in Sandisfield) to James Nelson, Jr.(bpt 1769 - ???). They had 5 or 6 children - Roxsa 1795, Nathan havens 1796, Maria 1798, Lydia 1801, Luther 1803, and maybe Barksa who died 11 May 1795 in Sandisfield (same day as Roxsa Nelson died). (All these childrens births from VR of Sandisfield).

Roxsa descends from Mayflower passengers Stephen Hopkins and Thomas Rogers.

Richard Haven (1618-1703)is my 7th GGF. I have a correction on the name of the wife of Nathaniel Haven listed in line 11. His wife was Elizabeth Travis (1668 to before 1734). She was the eldest child of James and Mary Pearce Travis. The father of James Travis was Henry (Henri) Travers of Newbury, Massachusetts. His son, James, changed the spelling of the family name to Travis after Henry died in 1648 on a trip to London, England. James lived in Newbury, Gloucester, and Brookfield, MA. Elizabeth Travis was born in Brookfield, MA and moved to Framingham, MA in 1675. She married Nathaniel Haven (1674-1746) on 9 May 1689 in Framingham, MA. They had ten children, all born in Framingham, MA.

Searching for descendants of James Charles Haven. I have his ancestry. James was born ca 1843, Vermont, married Adelia/Adelaide J ----- (who was born Sept 1849). Looks like James Charles died pre 1900 as Adelia/Adelaide was living with son Clark. Also, in the 1930 census she is shown as Adelaide Scofield, age 80, a widow.

James had a sister Adelaide H., born ca 1837 in Vermont - what happened to her? Did she marry?

James and Adelia/Adelaide Haven had two children. Clark S., born November 1871 in Vermont, married Anna ----, ca 1898, probably in St. Paul, Ramsey County, MN. Clark died 22 April 1934, Ramsey Co. Anna died 29 March 1939, Ramsey Co. Second child was Emiline, who was born ca 1875, Vermont. I do not know what happened to her - she may have married. She is not in the family unit in 1900.

Clark S. and Ann Haven had only one child that I see: Leonard C., who was born 12 Aug 1901, Ramsey Co, MN. He was not living with his parents in the 1930 census, yet he lived until 22 Apr 1957. Did he marry and have children?

1. John Appleton HAVEN was born on 16 May 1792 in Portsmouth, NH. He was educated in 1813 in Harvard University. He died on 14 Dec 1875.

Thanks for your reply; our Claude DeLap was the son of James William DeLap. Claude was born in Lime Springs, IA.

We are probably related somehow, but not direct. I have a "social page" article that talks about several DeLap's, including Mary DeLap Havens.

I was also trying to locate the genealogy of Arthur Havens DeLap who lived near our Claude for a period of time in SW Minnesota; Arthur later moved to Kansas. I found his death certificate, stating his father was Steven. Do you know anything about him?

I have the Susannah Haven and Moses haven that you mentioned in your query. The information comes from records that my great aunt collected years ago.

The Moses haven you mentioned is her brother he was born 7 Jan 1781 in Spencer,Massachusetts. Susannah was born 22 Oct 1782 also in Spencer. They are the children of Simeon Haven and Ruth Baldwin. Claude DeLap of Delevan, Walworth County, Wiscons was the son of Henry Delap b. 3/19/1848 who was the soe of Anthony Alber Delap who was my husband's great-grandfather. All I have is that he married a lady named Mame. I would love to have more information on this family .

O. Pierre Havens Famous Photographer

Born in Ossining, New York, O. Pierre Havens moved to Savannah, Georgia, in 1872, opening a photography studio in partnership with J. N. Wilson. He later took over the business from J. N. Wilson. In 1888 he relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, where he maintained a studio until his death in about 1913.

O. Pierre Havens took 2 photos of a group of people, one of whom looks like they could be a twin to one of my relatives.
Any information about O. Pierre Havens and his decsendants would be helpful.

Greetings. During a recent visit to Chittenden Rutland, we visited the family cemetery and learned that my husband's great-great g'mother was Susan/Susanne Haven born Mass abt 1784. She married John Davis Jnr and the gravestone shows DOD Jan 11, 1862. Whilst at the Town Records office we found docs showing John bought land from Moses Haven - so there must be a link. We would love to know what further info you have on her history. I'm happy to provide you with details of offspring with John. Many thanks. Heather & Bill

I'm researching my husband's family and his great-great g/mother was a Susanne Haven DOB 1784 in Mass who married John Davis from NH. They married and lived in Rutland, Vt. We were in NH in June and visited records offices. John Davis bought land in Chittenden, Rutland from Moses Haven abt 1820. We are unsure whether Moses could have been her father or brother?

Duanesburg, Schenectady, New York, USA. Her family information is on www.ancestry.com and other internet sites.

Myron's parents were Z. (most likely Zenos) Haven and Amanda ?. Z. can be found on the 1840 census in Hannibal, Oswego, New York. But that's all the information I have. I'm stuck there.

Moses Blood(1759-1854)=Anna cole(1782 - 1835),
Abel Russell Blood(18076 - 1890)= Laura Lucas(1810 - 1874),
Moses Blood II(1847 - 1893)=Sarah Batty Hawkins(1847 - 1823)
Mabel Clare Blood(1875 - 1958)=Stuart Sylvester Harper
(1876 - Abt. 1915),
William Harry Harper(1905 - 1086)=Elizabeth ann Moeller (1904 - 2003),

There is another line from Richard HAVEN(above)through
Moses Haven(1667 - 1747)=Mary Ballard(1666 - 1734),
Richard Havem=Lydia Whitney.In other words, Richard and Lydia were first cousins.
I have quite a few notes on many of these people, if anyone is interested.

Zenas Haven of Hannibal, NY is indeed a descendant of the immigrant Richard Haven. His line of descent is: Richard, Nathaniel, Moses, Gideon, Nathan, Zenas. I am descended through Zenas's brother Zedekiah. I have quite a bit of Haven data, including more info on Zenas and family. Reply if you're still interested and I'll send what I have.

Elmer Franklin Haven & Belle Burnett From Ks. to Ill. to Fl.

I'm looking for anyone who might know anything about Elmer Franklin Haven and his wife Belle Burnett. They were married about 1899 but it's not known where the marriage took place.

Elmer is the son of Edson G. Haven and Rachel E. Robinson. He was born in Feb. of 1869 in Coral, McHenry Co., Ill.

Belle Burnett was born about 1871 in Marshall Co., Ks. to Peter S. Burnett and Margaret J. Stout.

I am unable to find either one of them on the 1900 census. Following are the 1910-1930 censuses with them on it:

I have just started researching my lineage.My grandmother was cora virginia haven.she married john douglas brown aug 15,1899.she was b.7-20-1877.they lived in alton,ill. her father was preston lee haven,mother was mollie guthrie haven.That is all I can find.I can't find them on the census or marriage records.HELP!!!!

Could you please look in that book (the second part) on page II-17 and tell me what it says abour Roxana Haven?

My 4th great grandfather James Nelson married a Roxsa Haven, b. abt 1776, m. bef 1795 and d. aft 1820. She may have been b. in either Framingham or Sandisfield, MA but does not appear in either VR. I believe she was a daughter of Nathan and Tabitha (Sumner) Haven

Lisa - as I posted in another response - I am trying to find information about someone whose name is something like Nancy Mahaly Pinkley - who married an Andrew Wilson and lived in Paint Bank, Craig County, Virginia - right on the West Virginia border. She lived to be 100, from (I believe) 1813 to 1913, approximately. Any Pinkley information that you have to share would certainly lend a lot of clues! Thanks Jim.

Gerry - do you know any of the other members of Solomon and Rachel Pinkley's family? I have been trying to find out more about the Pinkley's in that area - and before I saw your post, I knew nothing about Rachel's family. My wife, Barbara's g-g-grandfather was Solomon Pinkley. He had a sister Rachel who
married a Humphreys (I do not know the first name). Solomon was born in
1823. Solomon Pinkley married Mary Adaline Boggess. Their
daughter, Mary Rosella Pinkley married Edward Lee Knotts. Their daughter
Edna Knotts was Barbara's grandmother. Edna married Virgil Benjamin Bonham.
Their son, Virgil Lorrimer Bonham was Barbara's father.

I have an old family picture of Rachel (Pinkley) Humphreys. Written on the
back; "Aunt Rachel Humphries (new line) father's sister (new line) Florence
Henderson (new line) her niece" Seems an odd inscription from Mary Rosella
since Florence (Pinkley) Henderson was Mary Rosella's sister. Most likely it
was Florence Henderson signing the inscription.

On the bottom of the picture, in Edna (Knotts) Bonham's hand; "My maternal
grandfather Pinkley's sister (new line) Edna Knotts Bonham"

I also have pictures of Solomon Pinkley and six of his children.

Looking for the birthplace and US family of Robert Havens born 1765 poss. Windham Co., or Royalton area, Vermont; lived near Bath,Ernestown Twp., Upper Canada (west of Kingston, Ontario)and died there March 1, 1825.

He married Abigail Hough (1778-?) on Oct 24, 1793 in Bath, Ernestown Twp., UC. She was the daughter of United Empire Loyalist - Barnabas Hough from Pawlet VT who is mentioned in
the State Papers of Vermont(List of Estates Ordered Confiscated...23 April 1778)

Any information on Robert Havens and his ancestors will much appreciated.
