Heifner / Shittle / Beene

I'm looking for confirmation that my g-g-g-grandmother, Barbara Heifner, b. 1791 in NC, is the daughter of Daniel Heifner, b. 1770, NC and his wife, Elizabeth Shittle, birthdate and place unknown to me. Barbara became the wife of Obadiah Beene.

An 1880 census placing Barbara as a minor in the home of Daniel and Elizabeth would do nicely. Does anyone know of such a document? Or do you have other ways of confirming this relationship?

Many thanks!

Barbara Bachner

I am a descendent of Obediah, father of Richard Dixon, father of Lee, Sr., father of John David Lee (Leeboy), father of Ken who is my father. Dan Havner (two postings pryor) is my uncle. [Hi Unc!] We went up to North Dutch Creek twice this summer, across the creek, and hiked up to the old home places. It is so beautiful there. My grandmother Jewell Damon Havner w/o Lee, we laid to rest at Waltreak just a few weeks ago. It was such a gorgeous day none can compare. I know of a couple second cousins that live on or near Dutch Creek. Are there any other descendents of Obe there?

Yes, Lee Havner and Elizabeth Campbell are my Great-grandparents. Leeboy is my grandfather and his son Ken is my father. I am also very interested in any information on Millie Caroline Payne and Annie Elizabeth Cornellia Campbell and the Campbells, Samuel Young and Jane. I have heard that they came from Mississippi to Yell Co. That Samuel b. 2/14/1836 came over from Ireland when he was 13 with several uncles + to work in a plantation. Thank you for replying.

Levi Havner/1850 Lincoln NC Census

In the census is a Levi Havner Jr 27 yo with wife Clarissa 26 and children Catherine 4, Barbara L 3. Also in the same household is Catherine Havner 60, Anna C 19 and Henry 23. I am assuming (I know, I know) that the Catherine 60 yo is the Mother of Levi, Anna C and Henry. Also on the previous page is another Levi age 42. I know it was the custom to tag a person with Jr, even tho it was to distinguish from a father and or an uncle. Does anyone know the father of the above Levi Jr and the husband of Catherine 60. This family eventually traveled to Lee Co Iowa as their next child Joseph Henry was b there in 1852. By the way, Levi Jr;s wife was Clarissa Leonhardt.

Obediah Havner Marion Co., TN Deed

Obediah Researchers
My name is Barry F. Smith. My g-grandaunt, Martha (Mattie) Catherine Smith was the second wife of Obediah Havner. While doing research in Marion Co., TN (I only live about 25 miles from there), I have aquired several documents on my Smith's that mention the Havner line. One is an 1846 deed where Obediah is buying land on Battle Creek. This Deed also mentions Daniel Heifner Sr.
In addition, I have a copy from the STORY OF MARION COUNTY IT'S PEOPLE AND PLACES, which has a Havner history by James T. Dunwoody (now deceased). I also have a copy of a Court Order for the Executor of the Estate of Obediah Havner, Owen Beene/Bean, to turn the property over to Adam Smith, my gg-grandfather, which he is to sell and send the money to the children of Robert Alexander Smith, son of Adam Smith, brother of Mattie Smith.
If anyone would like a scan, e-mail me at smith1977@aol.com.
Happy Thanksgiving
Barry F.
LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON INA BELLE BURTON WHO MARRIED A RICHMOND HAVNIEAR..TRADED A SECTION OF LAND FOR A RACEHORSE & LEFT OKLAHOMA FOR OREGON. MY FATHER IS MY LINK TO THE CHOCTAW & I WAS NOTIFIED SEVERAL YEARS AGO OF MY HERITAGE LIMITED AS IT IS, I DO QUALIFY AND AM PROUD OF BEING A MEMBER OF THE CHOCTAW NATION. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE SYSTEM USED IN 1920'S FOR PERCENTAGE OF BLOOD TO BE AWARDED A SECTION OF LAND OR DID EVERYBODY GET A PIECE OF LAND. ALSO I HAVE A THOUGHT THAT MY LINEAGE MAY BE LINKED TO THE HAVNER AREA OR
GROUP..HAVNIEAR SPELLING MAY BE OFF A FEW LETTERS, FROM THE PAST. THANKS FOR REPLYING.
JERRY HAVNIEAR

The only information that I am able to provide is that Samuel Havner was born around January 1843 and his wife, Elizabeth White was born around March 1855. Together, they had children Rhoda Isabelle Havner and Caroline Havner. Caroline married a John White and thats all of the information that I have. Rhoda married my Great-Grandfather Walter Garfield Rector. Do you have any information of Samuel Havner and Elizabeth White?
