Classification: Query
Surnames: Hawker, Berridge/Burridge, Holland, Stephens/Stevens, Woodland, Lye, Saunders
Trying to trace any living descendents of the Hawker family originally of Curry Mallet in Somerset in the 16th/17th century, including Hugh and Grace who lived between about 1650 and 1730.
More recently am trying to find people connected to Hugh of Chard (1805-1874) and his wife Sarah Hull. They had two sons I know of: Eli who vanished after the 1861 census, and Charles=Mary Ann Perry who lived at Ilminster. They had a son Frederick who died in 1948.
Also numerous branches of the family moved to London in the 1850s, including Joseph (1825-1885) and his sons Joseph, George and John who lived around the Pancras area. Also John a brother (1827-1879) who had sons John, Edward and George again in Pancras area. Another brother George (1833-1910) had sons George and William in the Islington area. Yet another one, Albert (cousin 1830-1895) had numerous children in Peckham, including a son Albert Edward. Finally his brother Jabez (also James, 1832-after 1871) is found in Finsbury in 1871 then vanishes.
If you think you might be connected in some way or would like some more info feel free to email me as I have far too many loose ends!
