I am searching for any and all information on Richard HAWKEY and his descendants. Richard was born in England about 1839 and emigrated in the 1850s to the Township of Fullarton, in Perth County, Canada West with his parents, Richard and Susan HAWKEY. Richard married Martha BURTON on 17 October 1860 in the Township of Darlington, Durham County. Martha BURTON was born about 1839 in Upper Canada, probably in the Township of Scarborough, York County. Martha's parents were William and Ann BURTON.
The Lovell's Dominion Directory of Canadians for 1871 lists Richard HAWKEY as a cabinetmaker on Prospect Street in Bowmanville, Ontario. This is as much information as I have so far been able to trace.
I do not know if these HAWKEYs stayed in Canada or moved on to the United States or elsewhere.
I would be very interetsed to hear from anyone with information about this HAWKEY family. I have extensive BURTON family research to which I would like to add this line.
