Hi, I was searching the family tree & ran across yours when I searched my fathers side, the Haydels. I was just curious to know whether if we were related or not. My daddy, Donald Haydel, said we were related to the Schexnaydres. My grandmother, Rita Becnel Haydel, was the daughter of some Schexnaydres. She was married to Dixon Joseph Haydel the second. I've just started searching my family tree & I hope to come up with some answers. Hope you can help me....

I have a lot of genealogy on this line posted at www.michaelbouy.com which has been built by many contributors over many years. Please email me your contributions to keep expanding the family tree!

Mary, Sorry it's taken so long to reply but I have a new email address and am now living in SC after the death of my husband, moved to be near daughter in 2003. All the information I have/had is listed on Michael Bouy's site. I'm just getting back into doing the research. Life seems to be getting back on an even keel. Spent 6 months in LA in 2005 & 06 with family, What a horrible devastation.

I do know that there are several spelling of Bouy, Boe',Bouey (my grandmother's spelling change) My father and his siblings had the name Bouy on their birth cert. but all of their children had Bouey and has continue for the past 3 generations.

Just read the latest messages from Jan and Feb. 2005 from Mary St. Pierre and Corine Robert. My new email address is the above or jsheppers@bellsouth.net, if you're still looking for information I'm glad to share all I have. I'm now living in Aiken, SC.

Hope all is OK with the LA relatives. My mother came out with minor damage, most aunts, uncles, cousins that lived in the greater NO area have lost their homes. One aunt in Madisonville also lost hers but everyone is alive and that's the main thing.

Read your message on the board and am requesting your help. My grandmother was Alcidie Boe' (Bouy). Her mother and father were Zulma Kliebert and Alcide. I think Alcide was the son of Gabriel Bouy and Celestine Faucheaux. Any help on the Bouy line would surly help. This is all I have on her ancesters. Thanks Leola Laiche St. Pierre

Reading message board and came across your name. My grandmother was Alcidie Boe' ( that's how she spelled it but pronounced Bouy). Her mother and father were Zulma Klibert and Alcide Bouy. I understand Alcide was the son of Gabriel Bouy married to Celestine Faucheaux. That's as far as I have on my grandmother. Anything you can give me will help. Don't know where to look for more. Thanks, Mary Laiche St. Pierre

Hi! I just ran across your message- I realize it has been a while since you've posted it, but maybe I can help. I am doing research also and have come to a roadblock. I am the grand-daughter of Daniel Bouy, son of Benjamin Bouy and Lillian Trege, My grandfather had 1 brother, Preston bouy, and 4 sisters, Gertrude, Helena, Lillian, and Elodie. Do you have any idea is there were any of our ancestors in the Civil War? I appreciate your help.

Augustine "Gus" Haydel/Heidel and Sophie Trepagnier

I am helping my husband trace his family roots. Any information would be appreciated. This is what we know:

His grandfather was Augustine "Gus" Haydel b. abt. 1887 d. abt. 1960 - Augustine married in abt. 1905 to Sophie Trepagnier b. abt. 1884 d. abt. 1976
They lived in St. John the Baptist Parish, LA at one time I believe.

I found a Widow Alphonse living in St. John parish in a 1900 census, 4th ward, with three children Julia, Celeste, and Augustin. I do not know if this is our Augustin.

I was told Augustine's parents were Alphonse Haydel & Leze or Lise Berthelot. I have not been able to prove this.

The original spelling of Haydel would have been Heidel.

Any info appreciated. Thanks.
Charlotte
Hi,

Emile Bernard married Alyda Haydel, Feb. 1875, at St. John the Baptist Church in Edgard, LA. Her parents were Adam Octave Haydel and Marie Livie Bossier. my gr gr grandfather was Paul Bernard, and I am trying to connect Emile and Paul, who may have been half brothers. There is a lot of info on the Haydels of St. John Bapt. parish in the census records that can be found on the LAGenWeb site for Orleans Parish which is part of www.rootsweb.com.
I am working a little on the Haydel Family in New Orleans and have a little information. Alyda Haydel was married to Emile Bernard, maybe around 1880 in St. John the Baptist Parish in Edgard. They moved to New Orleans. I am trying to establish a link with my gr gr grandfather Paul Bernard who maried Delia Weaver. I think Paul and Emile may have been half brothers, as they seem to have had a father with the same name, but differetn mothers. I have more exact info on dates, places, etc. on my other computer. I found a lot of inof on the Haydels of Edgard on the LAGenWeb site for Orleans Parish. Would love to exchage info with you.
