I have only recently started searching for Turner Hayden. Census records have been very helpful but they provide limited information. I tried getting a death certificate for him but the state didn't start keeping records until 1911 and the county kept death records only until 1898. One of the agriculture census records indicated that he had moved to Kansas from California. Is the Turner Hayden found in the Missouri 1860 census the same person?

Doug,
Where in Misoouri is your Hayden family from. I from a line that came to Green County Missouri in the late 1800's. Their origins are from PA through Zerah Hayden, 1783-1866. As a note of interest, this Hayden line has its origin in America directly from John Alden and Priscilla Mullins who were both Mayflower passengers. I am curious to see if Blancitt Shacklett HAYDEN fits in the line. I look forward to hearing from you.

Justin Walker
jwalker797@gmail.com

Good afternoon, Mr. Hardin: I know this is a shot in the dark as your message regarding Blancitt Shacklett HAYDEN is several years old. Blancitt is my great, great, great grandfather. I descend through the Blancitt/Marthe Ann MATHEWS marriage which produced Daniel T. HAYDEN. Daniel T. married Alice Maude COONS which produced Grace HAYDEN. Grace married Howard B. JONES which produced Alice Anne JONES. Alice Anne married Benjamin Franklin BECKER which produced Susan BECKER (my Mom). If I haven't completely confused you, I'm shocked.

I'm trying to find additional information on the HAYDEN Family and would be more than happy to reciprocate with our information. In your message from several years ago, you mentioned a scrapbook. Any chance of me getting a copy?

Let me know your thoughts.

Regards,

Doug Aitkin

Nathaniel Hayden was born Feb 2, 1641/42 in Windsor CT. The problem arises with the name of his wife. The Barbour Collection of Early CT records lists his marrage on Jan 17, 1676 to Sarah PARMERLEY. However many people list his wife as Sarah FRENCH. Where have people found the name FRENCH. They seem to be the same person but why the two last names. If anyone has any information please help me figure this out. Thanks

They had three children: Frances Caroline (b. abt 1905), Marshal J (b. abt 1907), Mary Delcena (b. 14 Nov 1908, Meridian Idaho; d. 23 Mar 1965, San Bernardino, California). In the 1910 Census they lived in Meridian Idaho and in the 1920 Census they lived in Ashton Idaho.

Hope this helps.
Jeff

Thanks for the links.
The descendant chart for James Lewis Hayden from the island register lists his first child as George. This is a promising link however I have yet to locate the names and b. dates of George's children. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi all,
May I jump in here with a question? My husbands g-grandfather William Hayden was born 1831 Vernon River, PEI. Records indicate he was descended from James Hayden however I haven't been able to tie into the descendant chart for James Lewis Hayden. William moved to Richibucto, NB sometime prior to 1861 as he married Mary Sutherland at that time in NB. Do you know if George, the first child of James Lewis Hayden, had a son William?
Thanks

Hayden, Tumpane, Turner--Nenagh, Tipperary, 1900s

Seeking additional informatin on the family of Martin Hayden and wife, Margaret Turner who lived on Castle St. in Nenagh in the 1850s and 1860s. Had at least two children: Michael Arthur and Josephine Mary. Michael Arthur was born in 1866. He and Josephine, along with their mother (don't know if father was deceased by this time), were in Balinasloe,Galway by the mid 1890s, both the mother and then Josephine were hotel proprieters on Dunlo St. Hayden's Hotel??.

Back in Tipperary, there is the family of John Tumpane and Margaret Hayden with at least one child, Christiana, born in 1865. They also lived, or operated businesses, on Castle St. during the same time frame.

Add to this that John Tumpane was a sponsor for Johanna Mary (not sure if she is the same person as Josephine Mary, I kind of doubt it), daughter of Martin Hayden, and sponsors for Michael Arthur Hayden are a Johanna Tumpane and Nathaniel Turner.

I am working to determine whether Margaret Hayden and Martin Hayden were siblings (I tend to think they were). Any clue as to additional siblings or parents? Also looking for the family of Margaret Turner--how is Nathaniel Turner related?

Thanks for any and all help/ direction.

Joni Vella

Eliza Hayden

Some of my distant cousins have a family tree on that is titled Adair, Ragsdale, Allen, Spradlin Family. The link in question is Eliza Hayden, whom they show was born in November 1829 at Cape Girardeau, MO and died in Scott County, MO on 6 August 1873. According to the ancestry given here, and other families have copied it, Eliza is linked to the Hayden's and John Alden. They show that she is the daughter of Julia A. Dowty and John Allen who were married 4 March 1847. John Allen and Eliza are the father of my g-grandfather, Thomas Jefferson Allen, whose death certificate shows, per his son Thomas, that his mother Eliza Haden was born in KY. All census records I can locate tell me that our Eliza Hayden was born in MO around 1829 and the Alden family claims that their Eliza Hayden was born in KY in 1821. Does anyone have any information on who the Eliza Hayden was that married John Allen in Missouri in 1847 or can the link to the Mayflower/Alden's be established? Between the poor handwriting of census takers, illiteracy among so many, and poor transcription of records, spellings are often just guesswork and vary quite a bit. If the records substantiate the link, I apologize to my family members, but if there is no link, then we need clarification. I am trying to track family members and this link is important. Maybe I just can't see the trees for the forest!

Benjamin Franklin Hayden of Mississippi

I am looking for any info on Benjamin Franklin Hayden that was married to Jane Elizabeth Carson. I believe their children were Ann, Sarah, Lucinda, Jesse Mack (my great grandfather), and William Ransom. I believe he has incorrectly been attached to the William Haden and Sabitha Wilson line from Davidson, NC as their is a Benjamin Franklin Haden in the 1850 Davidson County, NC Census as being single (and later married to a Martha McCrary) and a Franklin Haden in the 1850 Choctaw County, MS census married to Jane and having Ann, Sarah, and Lucinda. I know that Jesse and William were born in Pontotoc County, MS. I have seen Benjamin as possibly being born in GA, TN, and MS. Jesse Mack married Malinda Byler and had a son, Ransom Hayden, he married Odie Mae Free and they had a son, Billie Free Hayden, he is my father. Any help is greatly appreciated.
