Thanks!!! I doubt if this the Matilda Sullivan Thomas I am looking for. It may be. I was told she was listed as Mrs. Matilda Thomas on the marriage record. I do not know.

I am looking for a Matilda Sullivan that married a Sims [sp several ways] Thomas in Blount Co, Ala 21 Nov 1836. I have only found them in the 1850 census with 5 children in Marshall Co,Al. Delila E, b/abt1839, Jessty G. b/abt1841, Mary Ann C. b/abt1846, Jane Ann b/abt 1846, Elizabeth b/abt1850 all in Alabama.

The Sullivans were in Marshall, Blount, and Calhoun Co, Al

Do you know of any of these? Thanks for your help.

If he was of Irish origin it's more than probable that his name could have been "Lorcan".

It's quite common here in Ireland.

Are you in Ireland???????????

From what I can tell he was listed as Lorcan in the 1850 census in Alabama. The census taker could have been Irish or his family could have been.

What part of Ireland are you from? I was there a few years ago. It was so nice. In fact I hope to go back maybe next year. Was going to try and go this year but it is not going to work out
