I have Haynies in Oklahoma and Texas (though I don't know who they are). there are several of both spellings on the Dawes Rolls. I have Theodore Charlston Haynie born in Boggy Depot OK. His father was George Washington Haynie and mother was Sara Haney. And that's all I know. I also may have a John Haney in TX, a brother of Sara maybe. This is a very difficult family to trace. I have been trying to get somewhere for a good ten years.

In listening to my father's stories over the years about his youth, I believe he said his family was from Millville (?) NJ. He still has family who live there (sisters, so their names are probably different now). He had sisters named Estelle, Alice and (I belive) there was a Gertrude. He also had a brother named Cliff (or Clifford) although I'm thinking he had a different last name of Kidd so he may have been a step- or half-brother.

Hi, I'm not sure how to read the list except to say that it's apparent that it starts with the oldest date of 1717 (Joseph Bridgman). I did want to say that my father's name was Abner Leighton Haynie (1906 - 1985). His mother (my grandmother) was Mattie (maiden name unknown)and hailed from Reedville, VA. I know that his family was/is from the NJ shore but unfortunately, our family does not and has never had much contact over the years. I know (and have met) some of his siblings (Estelle, Alice, Cliff) but have no idea how many there were. Any information you can supply would be greatly appreciated as we would really know to know more about the history of the Haynie clan. You may contact me at my email address (beachpeople.judy@gmail.com). Thanks you and I look forward to any info you can supply.

Frank Haynie using Alias

My now deceased step-father was long assumed to have taken an alias and to be on the run. I ordered an SS-5 and received a letter from them that there was no SS-5 but there was an OAC-760. The form makes it even more suspect that this is not my step father but rather a stolen identity.

Name - Franklin Warren Haynie
Birth date 3/21/19 in Loas Gatos, CA (My step father stated that he was born 3/21/12 in Louisiana)
Father Jon Walter Haynie
Mother Alicia Louise Garcia

Says he was a trucker in Chicago. There is also a date on the OAC-760 on the lower right hand side of the form but I cannot make out what the date references - DOD? Date of benefit? The SS number starts with 728 so it was issued to a railroad worker.

Any help would be appreciated. Help me!! :)

I am the granddaughter of Mattie (Haynie) Machen. My father - her son - was Abner Haynie and we were from Baltimore. My grandmother died at the age of 99 and my father dies in May, 1985 at the age of 79. My father Abner, married and had two children, Kenneth Eugene and Mary (don't know her middle name). His wife passed away and he married my mother (Marguerite) and together they had four children (Abner Leighton, Jr., Marguerite Louise, Susan Blanch, named after my grandmother, and me - Judy). My father's siblings lived on the New Jersey shore and still do as far as I know. After my father's death, we had no more contact and very little contact before his death. I would love to get more information on the family history and reconnect with family as we (my brother and sisters) are the oldest generation from this area that I know of.

Haynie's on the East Coast

I am the youngest daughter of Abner Leighton Haynie - born Sept. 9, 1906. I believe he was raised on the New Jersey shore and was the son of Mattie (Haynie) Machen [spelling may not be correct]. Once he moved to Maryland, we had very limited contact with his other siblings who remained in NJ. I know for sure that he had a younger sister Alice as well as sisters names Hester and Pearl. If anyone has information regarding this side of the Haynie clan, I'd appreciate hearing from you. My eamil address is beachpeople.judy@gmail.com

I was just skimming through these boards and saw this one saying that your grandmother's name is/was Pearl Haynie Steinhaus. My father had a sister named Pearl (who incidentally looked almost exactly like my father) who was originally from the New Jersey shore, I believe. My father's name was Abner Haynie and he had another sister named Alice Haynie. Can you let me know if this could be your grandmother. My father pased away in May, 1985 and I would love to connect with family.

mindy74 1, who was your father? My father is the son of Mattie & William Haynie. As children, we did not know William as Mattie was already remarried to Frank Machen. Mattie Machen was my grandmother so that would make me your great aunt, I believe. Are you from the Jersey shore because that is where my father (Abner Haynie) was raised and his siblings are stil there as far as I know. We did not have much contact with my father's side of the family but I never knew why. Anything you can offer would be appreciated. Feel free to contact me through email at beachpeople.judy@gmail.com

The Haynie's from Culpepper Co., VA

I am searching for a Charles Haynie b. Oct. 13, 1794 in Culpepper,Co. VA He died in OH.He married a Sarah Trenary on Dec. 27th 1817. Her parents were Samuel and Ellen Feldman Trenary. He seems to have fallen from the sky and his parents are hidden, hopefully not forever! Many say his father his Anthony and Sarah Haynie however Anthony died in 1760 so how this can be, I have no clue. Some say Richard Haynie who married Elizabeth Bridger on 1681 or his second wife, elinor are Charles's parents. Any ideas on parentage besides Anthony and Sarah? Help is appreciated and I am willing to share any information and pictures that I have and will be forever indebted!
