Surnames: Haywood, Heyward, Heywood
Am interested in finding info:
Haywood Brothers who were from England and were commissioned by the Queen (Crown of England) to come to America(New York arrival) to survey North and South Carolina. Story goes..the crown refused to pay them when work was done and they stayed here.
One went north? and the other James Haywood-D Warren County Ga..married Polly Howell, 2nd wife Palatiah Shelton
The southern one settled around Charleston SC. Can anyone help me...Ship register? Brother in North Carolina??
