New information places Edward HAZELL in Mitchell County KS. before 1877. He remarried in Mitchell Co. KS that year to Melissa A. WAMSLEY after his first wife, Emma COOK had died leaving him with three young children. The 1880 Mitchell Co. KS census has listed in Eureka Twp. Edward HAZELL age 36, born IL. Melissa A. Hazell age 21, born OH.
and the three children of Edward and Emma COOK-HAZEL;
Mary A. Hazell dau. age 10, born WI.
Gannett (?) Hazell dau. age 08, born WI.
William E. Hazell son age 06, born WI.
After 1886 the son, William Edward HAZELL, married Lavinia BOTTS of Norton Co. KS and they were living in Hancock Co. IL Many years later they had settled in Salem, Marion Co. Oregon where they both died. I am still searching for info. on the two sisters, Mary A. and Gannett (Garnett-Garrett) HAZELL
