Jeff, I don't find anything on the parents of Davis or Cordelia, but I did find Davis in the 1880 Grainger Co census. He is shown as 26, Cordelia 20, with a dau Pholivia 2, and son Joseph born in September with brother in law, John Hazelwood living with them. There is a Wm Bare 63, born in TN but parents born in Va. shown as a laborer living near by with a Harris family; I checked the 70, 60 census, but could not find another Barr except for a Richard, born abt 1848, wife Sena Ann, born abt 1848, with James W. 1872, Cordie M. 1875, Minnie 1877 and Robert 1879.

Did you note in the 1900 census, there is a Joseph Barr shown as a cousin in the household of Barton and Sarah Harris. This is the same family that Wm Bare was living with in 1880. Possible connection.
