The Hazelwoods are listed in Coffee Co., TN in the 1850 and 1860 US Census. Isaac is shown as J W in 1860, (transcriber judgement), and a J W Hazlewood, Sgt., from the Coffee County Guards died at Camp Snead (Sneed?) near Knoxville on 09/11/1861, according to the Nashville Christian Advocate. The children listed in the 1860 census are Thomas, 18, Cyrena, 13, George,11, Elbert, 8, Adeline, 6, May 2, and John, 1. John was my great grandfather. Another son, listed as DeWit in the 1870 TX census and William in the 1880 TX census, was born about 1861. I would like to contact other descendants of this family to make a genealogical record. Adeline married a Pat McGuire, who in 1870 lived in the household of John's future wife's family, the Warners, in Dallas County, near Carrollton. The Warners and Pat were all from Ireland. Cyrena (Serena in later records) married Henry V. Statom in Cannon County, TN before coming to Texas with Jane and all of the other children except Thomas. Serena died about 1894. Jane was in Palo Pinto County, TX in 1900 in the Pat McGuire household, but I could not find them after that. A McGuire descendant contacted the Oliphant line, but I could not find her at the E-mail address. George may have been in Fayette County, TX in 1920. Jane was from Greene Co., TN, and they were married in Grainger County in 1841. I have not found Isaac's parents, but hope someone can help.
