My dad's grandmother is first cousin to Frank, who I previously had little on before finding your tree on Ancestry. My own tree is here http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&d...

The 1900 census has both Emma and Mary as white rather than Indian. It also shows Lydia Wardall as being born in Canada (English) rather than Quebec. In 1900, they were in Big Bend, Chippewa, Wi.

There was a story my granpa's cousin told of one of the Koch boys having an affair with an Indian maiden, who he loved, but the family would not allow it and she threw herself off a cliff. I have my doubts about that tale. Perhaps a DNA test would prove it.
