I have that she married Arthur and they produced at least 5 kids - Dolly, Joseph, Elsie, Hilda and Nellie. Would like to correspond with you and find out more on Sarah's line.
Healings from London

I've managed to research my family, with any confidence back to the mid-18th century, and with slightly less confidence back to about 1700. This branch of the Healing family seemed to have lived around the London/Middlesex area. The furthest 'Healing' I've researched back too is a Robert Healing, who married Hannah Weaver on 11th March 1762 in St Martins in the Field, London. Obviously, I'm most interested in the London Healings, but am also interested in how they are related to the other branches in Gloucester, Liverpool etc. Also how they might link to the American Healings as I am now living in New York and will probably be in the States from now on. Any information anyone has, I'd be really interested.

Simkins and Healing

I'm look for information on Daniel and Martha Healing (nee Simkins) from Smethwick, England. They entered America via Ellis Island circa 1910 and between then and 1919 lived in Newark, New York. Two addresses I have for them were 177 Barclay St or Square, Newark and 455 Washington Street, Newark. Martha was the daughter of Cornelius and Mary Simkins and was born in 1871 in Birmingham, England (4 back, 202 Icknield Port Road, Birmingham). Daniel was born in Birmingham circa 1870 and was the son of Jacob and Mary Ann Healing both from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. Daniels family also lived in Icknield Port Road, Birmingham which is where I guess he met Martha. They married in 1889 in Birmingham, England. Daniel's siblings included Arthur Bowen Healing, David Chas Healing, Francis Edmund Healing, Frederick George Healing and William Thomas Healing. Martha's siblings included Prudence, Lydia, Henry, Eliza, Miriam, Thomas (my grandfather). Last address I have in Smethwick, England for them was 96 Wills Street, Smethwick where they lived with Martha's parents. Daniel was a painter and decorator at the time and Martha a button coverer. Any information would be welcomed.

Hello Ellen,
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.
I really don't know much at all about the Healing's. All I do know, is that Hester Garrabrant married a James Healing sometime around 1910 and they had 2 children together. (I don't know anything about an accident.)

Their first child was a daughter, Cyrilla Healing. She was born in New Jersey 31 May 1911 and died December 1982 in Louisiana

Then there was a son, James Wellington Healing, born Nov 17, 1913, died Dec 1967 according to SSDI. His SSN was issued in New Jersey and it is 156-05-0873 (SSDI does not include the middle name). James Healing married Patricia Julian and they had the following children.
James Healing(mother Patricia Julian)
I don't know if this is the above James Healing or not. Born 4 Feb 1931 and died 2 Mar 1989 in Brick, Ocean County, New Jersey. His SSN is 151-22-3770
Ronald Healing (mother Bernice, last name unknown)
Donald Healing (mother Bernice)
William Healing (mother Bernice)
Mary Healing (mother Bernice)
Edward Healing (mother Bernice)

I hope this helps you..When I was in New Jersey last summer at the Archives in Trenton, I could not find anything in the birth records or death records for any Healing. I'm going to do some further research when I go back this summer. If I find anything, I will let you know.

Carol
I had an Aunt named Hester Garrabrant who was married to a James Healing. She had a son Wellington James Healing and a daughter Cyrilla Healing. Hester was born July 1894 in New Jersey. She would have married James Healing sometime after the 1910 census and at that time she lived in Jersey City. Is it possible that she was the first wife of James Healing you are talking about?
Carol
Hello, my name was Jean Healing before I married and am looking for information on my father's family. I am new to this business of genealogy, so if my question is too broad, would someone please tell me? The family I am looking for originated in Tipperary Ireland. I understand I need a Homeland before I can go much further; how do I find a homeland? Thanks for your patience and information.
Jean Parr.

who are Florence and Ruth

I knew Florence and Ruth, when I was about 8 years old.

John Healing married Florence Hayward .... WHICH John Healing married Florence remains to be seen ... Healing males tend to name their male offspring after them. Per se, there was at least one Daniel Healing before my father Daniel .. I am Daniel, and I named two sons of mine Daniel.

Apparently "a" John Healing left England in the early 1800's, for the USA, and he made several trips back and forth from England to the USA. Near as I can tell so far, he had a son also named John Healing, who also came here from England.

I will get back to you on this in the future. Love Uncle Daniel

NY Healings

Hi Ron, Sounds like we are 1st cousins. I am now in Oregon but on the way to living in WVirginia. Most of our extended family lives in NJ. Didn't know Aunt Florence was married before James. Have family pictures of both of them and some of the children. Have pictures of Florence"s Mother and Father plus other pictures. Family is large as Florence was one of 8 children, all deceased now. However, each of these had more than one child and there children more than one. Members of the family are working together to do the genealogy and to find each other for help, hope, love, understanding, and the rejoining of this very large family to unite again. Please feel free to call me at 1-503-363-9950 or send me your snail mail address so I can send you a copy of family newsletter I have started.

Some of the family surnames, starting with the matriach of the family is Carrie Elizabeth Fulmar Hayward Cowan.
Her children were Edward D , August C, Robert B(born l916), John M, Florence, Carrie V, all Haywards and my Mother Ruth E Cowan. There is a second son by the name of Robert B who was born in 1890's but died before the second Robert B was born. No family member seems to know anything about this one.

Through marriage there are Healing, Harring, Folwell, Signorelli, Kissel, Kobelnyk, La Doux,, Mulas, Neese, Pistoia, DeMaria, and others I am still finding.

Hope this gives you a start. Please keep in touch.

Oh, Daniel Healing is on your Father's side of the family from your father's sister. Daniel has a long history of that side of the family and he lives in NJ.

Ray and I live in New Jersey. We continue to be in very close contact.

I know for sure that he is your brother, you see, not only did my mother tell me about you when I was little but Ray spoke of you also.

He is a very emotional kinda guy. He missed out on alot in life as Im sure you have also when it comes to your dad.

Until I was around 13 I thought yours and Rays dad was mine but growing up and looking in the mirror a 6' tall red head didnt quite fit into the picture you know? I met your dad only one time when I was 14. He looks like an older version of Ray.

I would be very anxious to talk to you. I will call Ray and tell him your looking for him.

My email address is Irishgrl623@cs.com.

Hope to hear from you soon.
Tina
