My great-great-great-grandparents were Thomas Healing (born c1798) and Martha Lyon (born c1801). Their son George Healing (born c1831, Liverpool) was my great-great-grandfather. George’s brothers were Thomas Lyon Healing (born c1826, Liverpool) and William Healing (born c1828, Liverpool).

{I do find in Lancashire Marriage indexes for the years: 1863, STUBBS / HEALING Ann to KNOX William at Liverpool, St. Peter Liverpool 2122LP/44/354. In 1881 the ALDRIDGE family are neighbours to the KNOX couple.}

Trying to trace my Grandmother's family of ALDRIDGE.

The father of William (on his birth certificate) is John ALDRIDGE, carter. His mother is listed as Ann (Annie) (nee KNOX). I can only find an Ann STUBBS married to John ALDRIDGE in Lancashire Marriage indexes for the years: 1873 Liverpool, St. Peter Liverpool 2122LP/61/223

Sarah was the daughter of William Henry & Ruth (Morris) Healings of Madeley, Staffs. I have that she married Arthur and they produced at least 5 kids - Dolly, Joseph, Elsie, Hilda and Nellie. Would like to correspond with you and find out more on Sarah's line. I descend from her Uncle Sam.

Healings from London

I've managed to research my family, with any confidence back to the mid-18th century, and with slightly less confidence back to about 1700. This branch of the Healing family seemed to have lived around the London/Middlesex area. The furthest 'Healing' I've researched back too is a Robert Healing, who married Hannah Weaver on 11th March 1762 in St Martins in the Field, London. Obviously, I'm most interested in the London Healings, but am also interested in how they are related to the other branches in Gloucester, Liverpool etc. Also how they might link to the American Healings as I am now living in New York and will probably be in the States from now on. Any information anyone has, I'd be really interested.

Simkins and Healing

I'm look for information on Daniel and Martha Healing (nee Simkins) from Smethwick, England. They entered America via Ellis Island circa 1910 and between then and 1919 lived in Newark, New York. Two addresses I have for them were 177 Barclay St or Square, Newark and 455 Washington Street, Newark. Martha was the daughter of Cornelius and Mary Simkins and was born in 1871 in Birmingham, England (4 back, 202 Icknield Port Road, Birmingham). Daniel was born in Birmingham circa 1870 and was the son of Jacob and Mary Ann Healing both from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. Daniels family also lived in Icknield Port Road, Birmingham which is where I guess he met Martha. They married in 1889 in Birmingham, England. Daniel's siblings included Arthur Bowen Healing, David Chas Healing, Francis Edmund Healing, Frederick George Healing and William Thomas Healing. Martha's siblings included Prudence, Lydia, Henry, Eliza, Miriam, Thomas (my grandfather). Last address I have in Smethwick, England for them was 96 Wills Street, Smethwick where they lived with Martha's parents. Daniel was a painter and decorator at the time and Martha a button coverer. Any information would be welcomed.

THANKS FOR REPLYING. I CAN TELL YOU THAT THE JAMES HEALING BORN FEB.4TH, 1931, MOTHER WAS NOT PATRICIA JULIAN. THIS SAME JAMES HEALING ABOVE WAS AN ONLY CHILD.

I'm wondering if the James Wellington Healing is the same one in my family. His mother was Hester Garrabrant Healing and he was born Nov 17, 1913. He also had an older sister, Cyrilla Healing, born May 31, 1911.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.
I really don't know much at all about the Healing's. All I do know, is that Hester Garrabrant married a James Healing sometime around 1910 and they had 2 children together. (I don't know anything about an accident.)

Their first child was a daughter, Cyrilla Healing. She was born in New Jersey 31 May 1911 and died December 1982 in Louisiana

Then there was a son, James Wellington Healing, born Nov 17, 1913, died Dec 1967 according to SSDI. His SSN was issued in New Jersey and it is 156-05-0873 (SSDI does not include the middle name). James Healing married Patricia Julian and they had the following children.
James Healing(mother Patricia Julian)
I don't know if this is the above James Healing or not. Born 4 Feb 1931 and died 2 Mar 1989 in Brick, Ocean County, New Jersey. His SSN is 151-22-3770
Ronald Healing (mother Bernice, last name unknown)
Donald Healing (mother Bernice)
William Healing (mother Bernice)
Mary Healing (mother Bernice)
Edward Healing (mother Bernice)

I hope this helps you..When I was in New Jersey last summer at the Archives in Trenton, I could not find anything in the birth records or death records for any Healing. I'm going to do some further research when I go back this summer. If I find anything, I will let you know.

I had an Aunt named Hester Garrabrant who was married to a James Healing. She had a son Wellington James Healing and a daughter Cyrilla Healing. Hester was born July 1894 in New Jersey.She would have married James Healing sometime after the 1910 census and at that time she lived in Jersey City. Is it possible that she was the first wife of James Healing you are talking about?

My great grandmother was Sarah Healings or Heelings, of Staffordhire. She married Arthur Davenport (also of Staffordshire). They lived in Madeley, North Staffordshire. I think she died in the 1920's or 1930's. can anyone tell me more ?

yes then james healing was my grandfather and florence was my step grandmother . my father was james healing also and yes they lived in elmhurst queens n.y. my grandfather worked for exxon oil company as captain on a tug . my father had one sister they are both dead now . my father had 5 kids i am the oldest . i live in glen ridge nj . hope to hear from you or any one that would like to talk .

i am the son of james healing and i live in glen ridge nj . we are very close to each other , but i just found this web site . my grandfather was james healing of nyc and his second wife was florence . i believe that she had daughters by her 1st marrage . maybe we should talk if it is the same one that you are looking for.

Hi Deb, My Mother's sister Florence Hayward, married James Healing in the early l930's or late 20's. They lived in Elmhurst Queens, NY all their married lives.
