in Bradford County, Fla.

Charles William Heavner Sr.

STARKE-Charles William "Bill" Heavner Sr., 72, of Starke died Wednesday,
July 30, 2003, at Orange Park Medical Cetner following an extended illness.

Born in Lincolnton, N.C., Mr. Heavner served in the U.S. Army during the Korean
War and owned and operated the PepOO Station and Heavner Oil Company. He
was a member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM, the Morocco Temple of Jacksonville
and First United Methodist Church of Starke.

Mr. Heavner is survived by: his wife Rhonda Faye Heavner of Starke; his mother
Ruth H. Heavner of Lincolnton; two daughters, Lesley H. Wilson of Charlotte,
N.C. and La Donna Clark of Kaw City, Okla.; a son Charles Heavner Jr. of Julia,
N.C.; two step-daughters, Annette Popperwill of New Bern, N.C. and Charlene
Anders of Starke; a step-son Charlie Irland of New Bern; two brothers, Joe R.
Heavner of Charlotte and Fred F. Heavner of Rocky Mountain, N.C.; and eight
grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Heavner were Aug. 4, 2003 at Sampson City Church of
God with the Rev. Jimmy Dobbs officiating with burial in Crosby Lake Cemetery.
Archie Tanner Funeral Home of Starke was in charge of arrangements.

Note: I am of no relation, but my sympathies go out to those of you who are.
This is here as a lasting memorial for Mr. Heavner.
