HEBBARDS IN THE 1700's

Classification: Query
Surnames: Hebbard, Butts
For some time now I've been trying to research an ancestor, Elizabeth Hebbard, who is documented as having been born in 1750. The ONLY data I have regarding Elizabeth is from the International Marriage Records showing her marriage to James Butts (b. 1748 CT) in 1776 in Windham, CT. It's quite possible Elizabeth was not born in the USA - the "clue" being the International marriages record. Elizabeth was the 2nd wife of James. His 1st wife, Abigail Utley, died in 1774 leaving James with a 2yr old daughter, Sally? James and Elizabeth had 4 sons and 1 daughter from 1777 - 1783. James moved to NY with his children but I'm unsure if Elizabeth went with them or may have died before the move to NY. All of the children's births are recorded in the well documented CT records including the names of both mother and father. Children were: James, Elijah, Sheldon, Lovice & Luther Butts.

Would love to hear from any of you who can offer assistance in clearing up this problem.
