hi, my mother is a hebron from ireland. she is now 100, don't know if there is a relationship but do you know where the hebron name started, as she is irish but there are a lot of jewish cemeteries with that name

John Hebron, Philadelphia and VA after 1775

I'm helping someone with their application for the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). They require "proof" for all information provided. What proof do you have that John was in Philly by 1775 and that he is the same John Hebron who entered the Rev. War from VA? Also, what proof do you have that he died in D.C.? The applicant has John's birth listed as 10 May 1760 in France.

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

I was helping someone else out with the Hebron research. He is not my ancestor. I believe I gave all of the data back to the person I was helping, so can't tell you anything off the top of my head. I will be out of town for a couple of weeks, but will try to remember to check when I get back to see if I still have any information.

I am also seeking information on a Thomas Hebron. My gggrandfather's name was Thomas Hebron, however, he married a Mohr. They were from Ballylough or Ballybane, Roscommon. They had a son named James Hebron who moved to NYC and became very wealthy.

I am now trying to figure out if maybe Thomas, husband of Nora Sheridan, could have been the father of my Thomas and thus be my ggggrandfather. What are your relation ties?

I have a Robert Hebron(Hebburn) born 1823 Felling, Durham, he married Jane Pearson (2nd marriage for her)b.1832 in Durham. Robert and Jane's daughter Elizabeth Hebron was married to Christopher Liddell she was born 1869 Kenton Northumberland. I think Roberts father was called George and his wife was called Elizabeth. I am stuck and just keep going round in circles - can anyone help.

Seeking info on Hebron family along Roscommon / Galway border.
Descended from George Hebron who had moved to Kiltullagh Parish / Granlahan, Co. Roscommon from Co. Fermangh.

George's son Thomas used "Abram" and "Abraham" spellings in surname and lived in Granlahan and Garrafrauns (Dunmore, Co. Galway). Married Nora Sheridan.
Thomas' son Thomas moved to Huddersfield Yorkshire. Went by the name Thomas Habron.

I'm very new to this and don't have much information. I'd like to find out some information on an Ernest Rose Hebron, he was born around 1870-1890, i'm not sure who he married but they had 3 children, Dorothy (b:25/04/1916), Nancy and a child that was adopted at birth. Any information on these people would be very greatfull. They were all born in tyne & Wear England.

I know it has been along time and I am so sorry about that, between my health and just trying to keep up. Well I just can't seem to do it like I used to. I did find a Robert Hebbron b.05 JUN 1864 Clifford, Yorkshire. Parent's names were Ralph Hebbron and Sarah. This Sarah could have been Sarah Lofthouse. Is there anything new that you have found on your family that could connect your Robert to this Robert above?

M i Joseph Bulmer was born on 18 Jul 1813 in Brotton, Yorkshire, England. The IGI states that Joseph Bulmer's parents were William Hebron and Sarah Bulmer, this child could very well be Sarah's and ? or could be William and Sarah's. If so William was fooling around with Sarah before his first wife Died

F ii Margaret Hebron was born on 20 Jul 1815. She died on 1 Sep 1907.
M iii George Hebron was born on 30 Dec 1816. He died before 1900.

M iv Benjamin Hebron was born on 30 Aug 1818. He died on 28 Jun 1883.

F v Jane Hebron was born on 30 Apr 1820 in Westerdale,Yorkshire England. She died on 28 Jul 1834 in Michigan,USA. She was buried 1 in Mottville Cemetery. Jane emigrated on 11 Nov 1831 from Lagoda: From England To New York Destination Buffalo.

M vi John Hebron was born on 24 Feb 1822. He died after 1900.

F vii Rebecca Hebron was born on 27 Feb 1824.

F viii Alice Hebron was born on 17 Jul 1825 in Westerdale, Yorkshire, England. She died on 17 Aug 1834 in Porter Township, Cass County, Michigan. She was buried in Long Cemetery; Porter Twp, Cass, Michigan. Alice emigrated on 11 Nov 1831 from Lagoda: From England To New York Destination Buffalo.

M xi Gideon Hebron was born on 7 Jun 1831. He died on 24 Jan 1897.

M xii Stephenson Hebron was born on 5 Sep 1834. He died on 19 Feb 1864.
Rebecca's father William was married at least 2 more times, including Rebecca, he had at least 16 children.

Can you send me whatever ancestor information you have, like grandparents names, etc. I will see what I can find. The Hebron last name looks like it came from Scotland originally. There is more to its origin, but right now I can not remember off the top of my head. I will look through my Hebron information and give you what I find.

I have been putting together a Hebron family tree that encompasses a large portion of England and the USA, I have not looked into Canada yet but would not be surprised to see some of this family there as well. Some of this family I think may have also been in Scotland,UK as well, it is an extremely large family with a lot of mysteries.
If anyone is interested in contacting me, I can look through the tree and see if any names match. So far there is approx: 750 individuals on this tree and still growing.

i noticed that you had a note about Rudkin on the Hebron message board. My Great Great Grandmother was a Rudkin from Bagnelstown, County Carlow, Ireland. Two brothers emigrated from England to Bagnelstown in the 1600's. My ancestor and her relatives came to Kinsman, Ohio in 1851. She was married to Michael Barron who died before she came here with her three daughters. I don't have much on the family in Ireland but I am trying to obtain info from a relative in Ohio. My Grandmother had an older brother Tom who was Born 188?, She was known as Dora from some correspondence from her family. She also had a sister named Mary unsure of the Elizabeth. Her father's name I think was William and he was a glasscutter. I believe Dora was the only one of her family to emigrate(Australia) she may also have been married to a Mckenzie as this appears against her name on my fathers birth certificate. Some family names certainly are the same but I think the dates are out. Unsure of a Robert but will check with my parents.

John Thorley Hebron, born in Sunderland, Co.Durham, England in 1932, father was Thomas Hebron, born in Sunderland in 1898 and his father was Robert at Bill Quay, Tyneside (Hebburn). Father had a sister Bessie (Elizabeth) who emigrated to NZ, and sisters Dora and Edie, who both moved to Bradford. Brother was Robert who died when young. Could there be any connection - both Thomas and Robert are family names. Are you aware of the village of Hebron in Northumberland. Name derivatives are also Hepburn and Hebburn (both towns/villages in the region). BBC some years ago produced a programme showing history of the name - I have a copy somewhere if you are interested. First regiment of British Army (Royal Scots 1st afoot was originally named the regiment of Hebron) and was originally a scottish regiment, but after the union of England/Scotland it changed.

My grandmother came to Australia early 1900s leaving all her family behind. Her name was Dorothy and she had a sister Mary a brother Tom and others whose names I am unsure of, her father was a Glasscutter. I think a sister may have married into a family with the surname Dale. Any one help?

Clara Pauline Hebron was my grandmother, married to Franklin Rounsville. My mother was Viola Rounsville married to David Anderson. She passed away in March 2000. Clara passed in 1969 if I remember correctly.

My wife's grandmother, Pearl Elida Beare (Miller) was born in Cornwall England in 1910. She is currently living on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada but is suffering severe memory loss. Her mother, Elida Jane Curnow was born 1885 and she married Richard Henry Beare. How's that for starters?

Hi Robin, Thank You. My grandparents names where Thomas and Doris/Dorothy. Paternal Granparents anyway, They have the follwing children; Doris, Harry, Henrieta (Hetty), Margaret, Alan and John (my Father). Alan and John are Twins. All of my Granparents children are alive as far as I know and live in Yorkshire, in or close to Bramham. My Grandfather died in 1964 and my Grandmother in 1977. Hope this helps.

Hi Robin, I read your message with interest. As you can see my name is Hebbron too but with an extra "B". I live in leicestershire England but was born and raised in York. My Mother's family, the Reids of Scotland are the family who orignally settled in York.
My Father comes from a long line of Hebbrons from a village called Bramham, listed as a Leeds address but just 8 miles form York. I have found Hebbrons on this site registered as born in Bramham, the earliest being a Robert Hebbron born in 1864 and a lady named Sarah Jane Hebbron listed as being married in Wetherby, a small market town between Bramham and York, in the 1880's. I am working on the assumption that one of these people may be a paternal Great Grandparent. I would be interested to learn of your findings and tell you some more of mine. I am hoping to travel to Bramham cemetery very soon to research death records and visit my grandparents graves and possible find other family members.I am keen to discover the origin of the extra "B" in our name too. One strange possible mythical story I was told was that someone changed the name in the 1930's along with adopting Anglican religion for the family in an attempt to hide from possible nazi invasion, Hebron being a name of Israeli origin. This is disproved to a degree by the exsistance of double b hebbrons in the 19th century, but it may have some significance. Look forward to hearing from you.
