Seek info on Catherine Heckert who married first Abraham McCormick circa 1806 and second John Fridley circa 1811. She was born in Pennsylvania circa 1782 and had a brother Frederick Heckert.
The Heckerts, McCormicks and Fridleys came to NYS in the late 1790s or early 1800s and settled near Corning, Elmira and Painted Post. Fred Heckert was buried in the Town of Lindley, NY while Catherine Heckert McCormick Fridley moved to Fridley, Minnesota with her son Abraham McCormick Fridley.

Thelma M. Kier (Heckert) 63, of Lansing, MI died Feb. 15, 1992 at her home after a six-month illness.
Mrs. Kier was a retired teacher who moved to the Lansing area with her husband, Chuck. They are former residents of Wayne.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck, of 43 years; children Charles (Cathy) of Grand Ledge, Dan (Anne) of ann Arbor, and Gail (Tom) Anderson of Delta Township; five grandchildren; three sisters; one brother; and many special in laws, nieces and nephews.
Services were held Feb. 18, at the First United Methodist Church, Lansing, MI.
Arrangements were made by Tiffany Funeral Home of Lansing.

Uriah was the son of Philip and Anna Mary (Wirth) Heckert ... he was wounded during the assault on Fort Stedman, March 25, 1865, and died March 27, 1865. Uriah is buried at the Stone Valley Cemetery, Hickory Corners, PA. The family was located in Lower Mahanoy Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.

on 8 Jul 1845. They had 13 children.

Jonas supposedly was son of Casper Heckert and
wife Catharine Steinbrecker. Other possible children
of Casper were Elizabeth, Catharine,Frederick, Michael, Philip, John, Solomon, and Anna Mary.

his mother Laura Anna (?) Florian. He had
one sister, Helen, who died around 1920.
He passed away in 1959, when I was twelve,
and I know very little about his background.

Searching for proof of marraige between Laura Antoinette Heckert (b. 1853 Wayne Co.OH, d. 1928 Columbiana Co. OH), dau of John Henry Heckert and Anna Wiles, to Joseph Henry Wilson (ca 1850-1921, parents unknown).

One Heckert researcher gave me the date Oct 27 1880. I cannot find this record anywhere. Both Laura and Joseph are supposedly buried in Springhill cem. Wellsville, Columbiana Co. OH.

I am seeking information on Susan K. HECKERT b. btw. 1810 & 1814 I believe. She would be my g-g-grandmother on my mothers side. I have also seen her last name as HEISLER b.21 Feb. 1810 NJ. However someone sent me a copy of a page out of the Columbiana County Ohio Marriage Book 1800-1870 and although it is a little fuzzy it is neither of these surnames. This name seems to be HEGLAR. WV (Ritchie or Braxton County). He had 3 brothers: Denzel, Bill Wesley; 2 sisters:
Wanda Statie, as far as I remember. I was
told that he had at least one half brother,
Named Oaf?, not sure of that. His mother was
Rachel Smarr and father Jacob Heckert. I knew
my grandfather, he lived with us in Weston WV
when I was 4 or 5, he died sometime before we
came to Ohio in 1942. My grandmother died before I was born in 1935. I know nothing about either grandparent's ancestors. Would
appreciate any info on either of them.

My great grandmother was Regina Louisa Caroline HECKERT, b 2/23/1854 d 8/4/1930 in Johannisburg, IL. Not sure if she was born in IL. She was christened on 3/19/1854 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Johannisburg. She married Herman Vortmann and they had 5 children; Louise; Amalie Regina Emma; Marie Catharina Emilie; and Auguste Emma Louise. One child, name unknown, died at the age of 5. I have on loan a small booklet titled "Heckert-Betz Family Record, July 1940," by Arlene Knapp Van Loocke. It covers the descendants of Sarah Betz, b. Oct. 7, 1861, and Albert W. Heckert, b. Nov. 22. 1859.

It also includes information on Sarah and Albert's parents and grandparents.

I am currently entering the information into a new Family Tree Maker file, and am willing to share a GEDCOM of the data when I have completed it. (There are perhaps 300 individuals in the booklet, and I also am researching more on some of the current family members.)

If anyone else is interested in this information, please send me email and I will keep track of who you are and will send you the GEDCOM when it is complete.

Also, if anyone has any pointers on the Betz or Heckert line, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

I am very interested in finding out anything possible about my grandfather, Clarence James Heckert, who was born in WV June 3, 1905. He has one older sister who moved to Calif. I believe at some time. He was orphaned before adulthood. I believe at some point (adoles. I think) he also moved to Cal to live with relatives. He ended up in Everett/Seattle area, worked for Boeing, married, moved to New Orleans, LA by the mid 1960's.
