HECKMANN/HECKMAN FAMILY

I grew up using "heckman" but changed it to the original double "n" . My father, George Remington Heckman(n) was born in 1915 in Fairbury, Illinois (Livingston Co) to George Heckmann and Aline Renington. His father's parents were Ignatius and Margaret O'Malley Heckmann. They had seven children I believe. According to my fatner, now deceased, the Heckmann's came to America in the mid 1800's from the Alsace-Lorraine area between Germany and France. That's all I know except that his dad had at least two sisters - Jessica and Gertrude. If anyone has any additional information on this please e-mail me. There are seven of us baby-boom generation Heckman(n)'s.
