I am a Hecox originally from central Nebraska. There are several families there and quite a few generations are buried in a small cemetery in rural Dawson County near the original Oregon Trail. Have you had responses from others? We got some information several years ago from a book in the Mormon Genealogy Library in Salt Lake City about a Hecox (originally Hickock) who immigrated to the U. S. from Warwickshire England in 1629 or thereabouts. They even had a microfiche of the original passenger manifest from the ship they sailed on. I believe it was the "Plain Joan" or something similar. How do you keep all your information straight? Is there a good computer program for doing it well?
