African-American Robert Hector, PA 1800-1910

For a church reunion, I am attempting to locate the descendents of Robert Hector. His family were slaves and later servants of the Montgomery family of Montour and Northumberland counties, Pennsylvania. He is buried in Turbotville, Northumberland County. His son, George Hector, fought in the U.S. Colored Troops in the Civil War and lived in Milton, Northumberland County, Pa. and is buried there. A daughter married Bluford Powell in Milton and died in the 1870s. Other daughters were servants in Lewisburg, Union County. George Hector helped to found St. Paul AME Church in Milton, which is having its 125th anniversary in 2007. Any help is appreciated.

Ambroise was associated with my family on several levels. Perhaps the small bits of info I have regarding Ambroise Hector is what you have been searching for.
Illinois Hectors

My Grandfather was Edgil N. Hector Sr. His father was Ralph Hector. They farmed the central Illinois area. One of Ralph Hector's brothers or uncles was Benjamin Franklin Hector and he wrote in his school journal with pen quill the date of President Lincoln's death. Very important to those living in central Illinois. I would like to know any information on any other Illinois Hector's. Particularly if they are known to be connected. Thank you.
