Frank Amos (Hedin) Hedeen

My Grandfather was put into an orphange sometime back in 1888 + or - a yr. he was about 3 yrs. old they guessed. This was in Picatonica Ills. Back then the living conditions there were not good, infact harsh. They booted him out the door sometime when he was 12-15 yrs. old with 50 cents to his name. He met my grandmother Ona Sells and they married around 1918. Several, several yrs. later he found out that he had 2 step brothers and step-sister (Bertha Hanlon), not sure about her spelling of last name. Her daughters name was Leona Lawson ( Ills.) Now story has it that his last name was spelled Hedin, but When he got married, grandma added another "e", reasons being so as he could start a new life and Last name. Will try and post more as I find out.

Re: Ida Hedeen

I knew Ida Hedeen. She lived her final years in Augustana
Lutheran Home in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She had three children Doris (Mrs. Bernard Spong), The Rev. Luther Hedeen (deceased
for many years), and The Rev. N. Everett Hedeen ( now deceased). I went to high school and college with Everett's daughter, Mary who is now Mrs. David Clark. Dr. and Mrs. Clark live in Lindsborg, Kansas. I believe Mrs. Spong lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She has a son, David, who is a Lutheran pastor in a suburb of Minneapolis. I will be in contact with one of the family and will ask
them to correspond with you.

My Aun't name is Adele Aurore Hedeen. She married George Frederick Zimmerman. From the message on the message board, I don't think this is the same Adele because she and my Uncle never had any children. She did have a sister, Lillie and another sister, Esther. Esther Hedeen was married to Carl Jacobsen. They all presided in Chicago, Illinois. Just thought I would pass this along and see if there is any connection. Linda
