Thanks for your reply Rhonda, I've had little time to do any research lately but your enquirey has sparked my interest again. It seems that there were very many Patrick O'Hehir's arround in the mid 1800's. My wife Kerry has done most of our research and has managed to establish that my GG Grandfather was a Patrick Hahir married to Eliza Appalin. he was from Ireland, she was from Melbourne. They had my great grandfather John Hehir (note name change) on August 16 1878 in Mathoura NSW. Our problem is trying to establish that my GGG grandfather was in fact William Hahir who arrived on the Matoaka in NSW 17/5/1855 with his son Patrick age 15 months born 1853 in Ireland.Williams wifes name was Ellen (Halloran). Williams parents I believe where a Patrick and Bridget Hahir. Unfortunately I have been unable to confirm that Willaim and Ellen where in fact passengers on the Matoaka as the records we have conflict with the passenger list. We have no record of a Timothy son of Patrick however I hope this is of some help to you, my wife may be of a little more help if she can find the time to delve a little deeper into the mystery of the O'Hehir / Hahir clan from County Clare.Regards Michael Hehir
