Thanks for your response, Nancy. It looks
very promising since we recently found information that leads us to believe James
O'Hare, Sr. came from Co. Armagh. We had
no reason to believe that until we saw some
gravestones, one for his wife who was from
Armagh and another possibly his sister who
was also from Armagh We were not allowed to
view records in the local church which would
possibly have enlightened us but have not
given up. The name McArdle is not familiar
but it really sounds as though we are talking
of the same James O'Hare. I figure our James
was born around 1811. He sailed for Canada
and had a son (ggrandfather) born in 1842 in
Montreal. Within a yr. or so they moved to
the Pottsville area and I do have an obit.
speaking of James as being alive and living
in New Philadelphia when he was in his 60's.
Please e-mail me at Joni703@juno.com and I
will give you some additional names leading
back to Armagh from the cemetery stone info.
Thanks so much again. Have a wonderful
Christmas!
