If you run across any Hehle in Bavaria, please let me know. I believe I have one in Tobelmuehle (near Regensburg) who would have been born in the 1800s. It seems that my ancestor, Mathilde Knoepfler (born Tobelmuehle 17 May 1856) had a step-father with the surname "Hehle". Her mother's name was Josepha Knoepfler. I don't yet know if Mathilde was from an earlier marriage to a Knoepfler or if she was illegitimate. Anyway, we have a commemerative book she was given at her confirmation and it is inscribed with both the names Knoepfler and Hehle.

Hi Brian, your grandfather was my grandmothers cousin. Their grandmothers (Artie and Frances Hammel) were sisters. Carlton is a great man. I had the pleasure of meeting them a few years ago here in NY. I was saddened to hear of Lucille's passing tho. I hope Carlton is doing well. Let me know if you have any information to share. Thanks, Tim
I live in Vorarlberg, its in the western part of Austria. My grandfather was from Vienna, but he moved to Vorarlberg when he had the relationship with my granny. My grandfather was in the United States for a year (or more). His name was Erwin Hehle, my dad`s name is Gerold Hehle. I have 3 brothers and 1 sister. I dont know much about my relatives. i know the name of my grand-grand father (Rudolph Hehle) and i know that some relatives were from the southern part of Germany (around the Bodensee). Once i saw that we have a a family tree, and i know that the first guys name was Michael Hehle and he lived in 1604. I will look for the family tree again.

sincerely

Benjamin Hehle

My father is Carlton Hehle Jr. My grandfather is Carlton Hehle Sr. originally from Parson WV. My grandfather was chief of the WV state police for a time and then relocated to Charles town WV where he and his wife Lucille opened the first Tastee Freeze in the state as well as a nursing home.
Both my father and grandfather reside in Barnwell SC now. I have one brother Sam, named after my uncle. My wife is Lisa and we have 2 wonderful children- Ashley and Joseph Jr. I am 26 and do computer consulting work for the US Gov. I would love to find out more about our family and its name. I know of at least 6 other Hehle's in the US- all family.
Well Tim,

I just saw your note telling that you want to know more about the Hehle-Family. I´m sitting here in Austria, situated in the very heart of Europe. And my name is Hehle. It´s a very typical name within the western part of Austria. Even in my village there are about 20 families with this name. I suppose it´s of South-German origin. Maybe this will help you.

Bye Fritzi
