I am looking for the immigration record for Maria Heider, born abt 1872 from Illmitz, Austria/Hungary who was born to a Stephen Heider and Elizabeth Muellner. Maria (Mary) Heider married a Michal Haider(Heider). Michal immigrated to MN in 1892. I believe Maria came in 1893, for sure by 1895 as she is on MN census rolls at that time. She has three other sisters, Pauline, Suzanna, and Anna, all who came to MN. I have records for Suzanna and Anna.

I wonder if we may be mixing up the Glashuettens...apparently there is one in Bavaria, as well as another right to the Western edge of the current German Palatine.

I look forward to the clarification, and hope that you will please forgive any ignorance on my part...I was a Smith long before I became a Hyder, and have done no research of my own on the Hyders. But I do enjoy studying and appreciate all of the work you all have put in to documenting the family roots! Many thanks!

Hans Michael Heider

Hans Michael Heider is considered by most Hyder genealogists to be the progenitor of the Hyders in the SE USA and the father of Michael and Benjamin whose genealogies are thoroughly attested and easy to search.

Many, many (most?) of the family trees on ancestry.com and elsewhere list Hans Micheal Heider as coming from Glashuetten in Bavaria.

There is almost NO CHANCE that is the correct origin for Hans Michael. He was a Palatine. Glashuetten is not in what was the Electoral Palatinate.

I will be posting a rather lengthy discussion of this, however, until then I need your help.

PLEASE REMOVE REFERENCES TO HANS MICHAEL HEIDER's origins (much less his parentage) !!!

Thank you.

James Hyder

My Grandfathers name was Charles Heider. My fathers name was Earl Richard Heider, born in 1929, Battle Creek Michigan. I know that the family heritage is German. I also recall that they resided in California for some years... You might want to try there. I wish that I could be more helpful, but I do not know what year that my grandfather was born.

That night there was a fee wedding dance at the Kimeo hall. There was a large crowd present and all seemed to have a good time.
Yes this actually matches some of the information I have. I am actually descended from Henry's brother William. Are you aware if Henry got remarried to a lady named Lovie/Lourie Jackson? I think I see Henry on the 1900 census with a new wife Lourie. let me know if any of this rings a bell.

Thanks

Lillian Heider, child of Frederick Heider and Ada Mary Riley, was born on Octboer 12, 1912 in Chicago. I have traced our family quite a way back. PLease e-mail me direct (bheider@aol.com) and I can send the information.
Brian Heider

P.S.

Sophia Reckeweg married William Dietrich Heider January 17, 1857 in Washington DC. Sophie as she was called had a sister Caroline who married Charles (Conrad) Krey (Krei). I believe that there was also a Henry and Wilhelmina Reckeweg, brother and sister to Sophia Reckeweg. According to the family bible the Reckewegs came from Stolzenan Province Hanover Germany. I spent a lot of time in my childhood at the old Heider home on Harrison St. in DC. Such a grand old house. Was a true pity it was torn down for a parking lot. If anybody can tie into this line of Reckewegs, I sure could use the help. Thanks.

Clarence Jacoby Jr. adopted, re-named Herbert Heider, Bbay City, Michigan...

Clarence Jacoby Sr. married Mary Elizabeth Brady ( my great grandmother), they had 3 children; Clarence Jr. , William, and Margaret Jacoby. Clarence and Mary divorced, all 3 children were adopted out. Clarence Jacoby Jr. was adopted by the Heider family in the Sebawaing, Michigan area. William amd Margaret were adopted to the Shultz family in the same area. Mary (Brady) Jacoby re-married Mathew Warren Keenan, having 4 sons; Mathew Jr. (my grandfather), Thomas, Arthur, and George Keenan. Nothing is known as to why these Jacoby children were adopted out to the Heider and Shultz families. When I was a little girl, I do remember my granfather, Mathew Jr. taking me to visit these people in the Bay City, Sebawaing, Michigan areas. All have passed on now, and all I really want to know is why????. I'm doing this for my family genealogy only. Is there anyone out there that can help me? Looking forward to hearing from anyone who can help.....

Joyce HEIDER, born about 1940

Joyce's father was military, Army I think, living in Texas. 1950s-60s she was a close friend and I lost track of her. She had one daughter, Brandy Lin Kelley I think is the spelling, born about 1960 OH. Last I knew, they lived in MO.

I think her father's name was Vincent HEIDER, mother may have been Margaret. I think her grandmother lived in MO. I believe Joyce had married someone else earlier but that her husband, father of Brandi's name was Patrick Lin KELLEY of Columbus OH.

Joyce is unrelated, but someone I miss from back "growing up". If you know her, please tell her how to get in touch with me.
